New 20/20 February 28 Special One Hour Episode To Feature An Oscars Awards Preview
ABC is officially scheduled to dish up another new episode of their hit news show, 20/20 tonight, February 28, 2025, but this will be a special edition version as they will use it to deliver a special preview of the 2025 Oscar Awards, which ABC will be covering LIVE this Sunday night, March 2, 2025.
ABC’s official press release for this new 20/20 episode is telling us that it’s officially titled, “Countdown to the Oscars with Robin Roberts: A Special Edition of 20/20.”
The preview information reveals that Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts will get brought on to host this special 20/20 edition. It will be filled with lots of surprises from the stars. Robin Roberts is going to interview some of the nominees. One of them is Cynthia Erivo who has been nominated for the Best Actress category for her role as Elpaba in the “Wicked” movie.
They will also talk about some other high profile names that have been nominated to receive awards this year. Some of the names mentioned are: Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana and Mikey Madison and Timothee Chalamet.
ABC News correspondent Chris Connelly is going to do an interview with the host of this year’s Oscar Awards event Conan O’ Brien.
ABC’s official description for this special episode 20/20 reads like this, “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts hosts a special 20/20 filled with surprises from the stars and sit-down interviews with Oscar nominees, including Cynthia Erivo, nominated in the Best Actress category for her role as Elphaba in the feature film “Wicked” and actor Jesse Eisenberg nominated in the Original Screenplay category for “A Real Pain” co-starring Best Supporting Actor nominee Kieran Culkin.
Roberts shares a rare behind-the-scenes look at the gravity-defying dresses worn by the stars of “Wicked” with Paul Tazewell who is nominated for Best Costume Design.
Additional interviews include Oscar-nominated directors Coralie Fargeat of “The Substance” and James Mangold of “A Complete Unknown.”
The special also spotlights many of this year’s high-profile nominees, including actresses Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana and Mikey Madison, as well as actor Timothée Chalamet and more. Roberts is joined by ABC News correspondent Chris Connelly who sits down with comedian Conan O’Brien who will be hosting Hollywood’s Biggest Night for a preview of what the first-time host has in store.”
Again, ABC’s press release confirmed that a special Oscar Awards edition of 20/20 is scheduled to hit your TV sets tonight, February 28, 2025 in the 7 pm central standard time slot. It will be a 1-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 8 pm central standard time.
