New Shifting Gears Season 2 Still In Question. ABC Hasn’t Renewed It Yet
According to a couple of our sources, ABC has yet to announce if they’re going to renew their new hit comedy series “Shifting Gears” for a new season 2. That means tonight’s finale episode 10 might just be the last episode forever. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Since there is no information available about ABC’s plans to renew Shifting Gears for a brand new season 2 yet, we did take the liberty of seeing how Shifting Gears performed for ABC via the LIVE Nielsen ratings.
According to them, this first season of the show managed to average 4.375 million LIVE viewers per episode along with a 0.40 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 9, which aired last Wednesday night, March 12, 2025, drew in 3.821 million LIVE viewers and a 0.31 ratings score.
The most viewed episode was the very first, premiere episode 1 with 6.099 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 7 with 3.444 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.66 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 7 with a 0.30 ratings score. I always personally thought this show was performing really well for ABC. Those numbers look really terrific, especially since they don’t even include all the viewers who watch it on the streaming platforms.
With that said, we would be highly surprised if ABC doesn’t renew this show. If they happen to not renew it, it probably means one or more of the actors is getting paid too much for ABC to afford it. Keep your fingers crossed for a brand new season 2.
