Ghosts New Season 6 Is Happening. CBS Renewed It

Tonight, May 21, 2026, CBS is airing the new episodes 21 and 22 of Ghosts’ current season 5, and those will be the finale episodes. So, we did check to see if CBS renewed it for a brand new season 6. We’re happy to inform you that CBS did indeed give the show a new season 6 renewal order.

In fact, CBS renewed the show pretty early a couple months back according to Deadline.com and their sources. They’re also telling us that Ghosts’ new season 6 will consist of another new 22 episodes.

However, even though season 6 is getting a full season order, we’re being told that it’s not scheduled to premiere until the mid-season in early 2027. It’s not going to be included in CBS’Fall 2026 line up. Season 6 is actually going to premiere in the spring of 2027, and it will keep its same Thursday night time slot.

Apparently, CBS wants to use the Fall 2026 time slot to introduce a new comedy called, “Eternally Yours.”

According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Ghosts season 5 averaged 4.422 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.34 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.

The most-viewed episode was episode 16 with 4.845 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episodes were episodes 9 and 10. They both tied for last place with 3.980 million LIVE viewers.

The highest-rated episode was episode 18 with a 0.40 ratings score. The lowest-rated episodes were episodes 9 and 10. They both tied for last place with a 0.25 ratings score.

Again, CBS officially renewed Ghosts for a new season 6. That is a wrap for this latest, ‘Ghosts” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
