Boston Blue New Season 2 Is Happening. CBS Renewed It Early

Tonight, May 22, 2026, CBS is going to air the 20th episode of Boston Blue’s current, premiere season 1, and it is the season finale episode. So, we did take a look at whether or not CBS is going to renew the show for a brand new season 2.

According to the people over at Deadline.com and their sources, CBS did give the show a new season 2 renewal order, and they did it pretty early way back in December 2025. So, they were definitely happy with the show’s performance.

They were also happy with Sheriff Country’s first season 1 performance as they also gave it an early season 2 renewal order at that time.

Amy Reisenbach who is the President of CBS Entertainment served up some wonderful words for these two shows during the renewal announcement saying, “Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits with audiences quickly embracing Boston Blue and Sheriff Country across broadcast and streaming.

These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera.”

Deadline didn’t mention a premiere date or episode count for Bostpn Blue’s new season 2. So, we’ll have to give you that important info at later date when CBS releases it.

According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Boston Blue season 1 managed to average 3.829 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.17 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.

Again, it’s reported that CBS did officially renew Boston Blue for a new season 2 quite early back in December 2025. That is a wrap for this latest, “Boston Blue” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
