Star Trek Strange New Worlds New Season 5 Is Happening. Paramount Plus Renewed It
Today, September 24, 2026, Paramount Plus released the next, new episode 10 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ current season 4 onto their streaming platform, and it was the season finale episode. So, we did do a quick search to see if Paramount Plus had put in a renewal order for a new season 5 yet.
It turns out that they did, and they did it a while back. According to the people over at Radio Times and some other sources, Paramount Plus actually gave it a very early renewal announcement way back in June of 2025. That was way before a single episode of season 4 was released. So, they were definitely quite confident in the show.
There is some bad news for any of you who would want this to go past a 5th season as we are being told that the new season 5 is set to be the final season forever and ever.
This also gets a little worse because we’re hearing that the new season 5 will also be quite a bit shorter. Paramount Plus decided to only pay for 6 new episodes. So, if you thought 10 episodes was a short season, this is really going to be disappointing for you.
Radio Times says the final 6 episodes have already been filmed. The filming took place over in Toronto, Canada. Currently, no exact release date for the new season 5 has been announced. However, there is speculation that it could arrive sometime in 2027. We’ll have to wait and see.
Again, Paramount Plus has officially renewed Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for a brand new season 5 with just six new episodes.
