All American New Season 9 Is Not Happening. The CW Canceled It
Tonight, September 28, 2026, The CW aired the next, new episode 13 of All American’s current season 8, and it was not only the season finale episode, but it was also the series finale episode according to The CW’s episode 13 press release. So, that is it forever.
Also, this news was reported way back in June 2025 when they renewed the series for the recently ended season 8 according to The Hollywood Reporter and their sources.
Brad Schwartz who is the president of The CW had some terrific words to say about the show and its staff during the renewal announcement. He said, it’s one of the greatest shows of all time for The CW, and he was honored to give it one more season.
Channing Dungey who is the chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group and WBD US Networks also had some very nice words to say about All American. He said the viewing audience fell in love with the characters and their stories. He went on to say that he was very thrilled for the final season 8.
We’re being told from some other sources that The CW is looking switch its focus, and All American did not fit this new focus that they are going after. So, it got cut. Also, the Hollywood Reporter is telling us that the CW has been trying to make the network more profitable, and cutting a lot of the scripted shows appears to be a game plan that will help them do that.
That’s why they cut a ton of scripted shows way back in 2022. All American was the only one they decided to keep from that huge cut. So, the show was lucky to survive this long on that network.
Again, All American is not getting a new season 9. The CW essentially canceled it by making season 8 the last season it would purchase.
