Amazing Race October 1 Eliminated Katie & Charlotte (Recap)
Earlier tonight, October 1, 2026, CBS aired another new episode for The Amazing Race’s current season 39, and we saw another unlucky team get eliminated by the time it wrapped up.
Tonight’s new episode kicked off with the remaining 12 teams, learning they had to fly over to Madrid, Spain to get their first clue for this leg of the race. When they got there, they had to go to a metro station and hop on train to go get their next clue.
When they got it, they hit a Road block challenge. During it, they had to find a clue in a batch of ripe tomatoes to get their next clue. Daisha & Dawton used their express pass to skip the Road Block after struggling with it for a while.
After the teams successfully completed the Road Block challenge, they were told to go to Puerta Del Sol to get their next clue. Erin & Javi caught a wrong train to Del Sol. So, that slowed them down a bit. When the teams reached Puerta Del Sol, they ran into their detours for this leg of the race. They got to choose to do either the “Slice Of Ham” detour, or the “Slice Of History” detour.
In the “Slice Of Ham” detour, the teams had to carry ham across the city to a restaurant. Then, correctly prep 50 grams of ham to get their next clue.
In the “Slice Of History” detour, the teams had to memorize and correctly match 12 names with the correct pictures to get their next clue. Jody and Jenn used their express pass to skip the “Slice Of History” detour.
After the teams successfully completed whichever detour they decided to do, they were told to go to the Plaza De Espana, which was the pit stop for this leg of the race.
Joanna & Ali reached the pit stop in first place and won 5-night trip for two to Hobart, Tasmania over in Australia from Expedia. Michelle & Matthew took 2nd place. Cody & Jamie finished 3rd. Ann Marie & Riley claimed 4th.
Jody & Jenn took 5th place. Daisha & Dalton finished 6th. Erin & Javi took 7th place. Andrea & Anuar landed in the 8th spot. Conner & Garrett took 9th. Doug & Dylan finished 10th. Dafina & Saran claimed the very important 11th position to just narrowly escape elimination.
Katie & Charlotte finished last, and host Phil Keoghan did tell them that they were eliminated for it. Katie and Charlotte told the private cams, “It was a great adventure. I’m glad we got to do it together.”
