Tough As Nails March 31, 2021 Eliminated Liz Nichols From Individual Competitions (Recap)
Hey, “Tough As Nails” fans. Tonight, March 31, 2021, another new episode of Tough As Nails season 2 did indeed arrive, and we saw another competitor get eliminated from the individual competitions in a cliffhanger, overtime challenge thus losing their chance to win $200,000 dollars and a brand new, 2021 Ford F-150 pick up truck.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with host Phil Keoghan showing up to present the teams with their next team competition. It was pointed out that another win for the Dirty Hands team would give them the extra $60,000 dollars for making it to 5 wins first. Currently, they were in the lead 4-3 over the Savage Crew team.
In this team challenge, the teams had to bring a dead car back to life by collecting various different parts from a sea of cars at a junkyard. They were given a work order that told them what they needed to do to fix their dead car.
Phil told them that Patrick “Freight Train” was still in quarantine. So, he could not return. His Dirty Hands team were really bummed about that because he was their car guy. Since Patrick could not return yet, someone from the Savage Crew team had to sit out of this challenge to keep the teams even. So, Merryl volunteered to sit it out.
Scott was team lead for the Savage Crew team, and Zeus was team lead for the Dirty Hands crew. During this challenge, the Dirty Hands team ran into issues with communication. The Savage Crew ran into issues removing a door, but they eventually got that figured out, and they started building their car first.
Over at the Dirty Hands team, communication was still a big problem. At one point, Iraida got really mad at Angel for running off and leaving her without any help with the car door. Most of the time, the Dirty Hands team just couldn’t get it together, and they were just scrambling like chickens with their heads cut off.
Meanwhile, the Savage Crew team completed the job well ahead of Dirty hands to tie for team wins 4-4! When it was done, the Dirty Hands team didn’t even look like they were anywhere close to repairing their car. It was a total mess, and they knew it. They kept saying, they wished Patrick could’ve competed in this challenge with them because he’s great with cars.
The Savage Crew team collected a cool $12,000 dollars for their win, and both these teams will battle it out for a final team competition next week to claim that extra $60,000 dollars.
Next up, we were shown the individual challenge. In it, they had get an oil drip pan and collect oil from the some of the many cars at the junkyard, and they had to use that oil drip pan to fill up containers with the oil until they had 15 quarts worth.
During the challenge, Liz and Iraida said they had a tough time. Liz couldn’t get the bolts loose. So,she stole Scott’s oil from the car he was working on. It was all legal in this competition. Iraida said she just didn’t know what the hell she was doing. So, she used the same tactic Liz did and got oil from other people’s cars.
When it was all said and done, it was Sarah who took the first place spot. Scott came in second place. Zues took 3rd place ,and Swifty took that very important 4th spot to just narrowly escape having to go into overtime.
So, it was poor Liz and Iraida who finished in last place. So, they had to battle it out in overtime.
During the overtime challenge, Liz and Iraida had to remove three parts from an engine: the flywheel, the exhaust manifold and the oil pan. The first one to get it all done, won.
Iraida ran into many issues in this one, but she remained strong and figured things out just quick enough to edge out Liz for the victory! It was very close though. This was one of the most suspenseful challenges of this season. No doubt.
Unfortunately for Liz, she could not get the win. So, she did indeed get eliminated from the individual competitions. She was a great sport about it. She congratulated Iraida and gave her a hug. Iraida said she and Liz will definitely be friends after this.
