Station 19 Season 4, June 3, 2021 Episode 16 Is The Finale. Season 5 Is Happening
Hey, “Station 19” fans. We are back on here for one last Station 19, season 4 report. That’s right, guys. This will be our last report for the current season 4 of Station 19 because season 4 is officially done after episode 16 hits the airwaves tonight, June 3, 2021.
We’re pretty sure that Station 19’s season 4 got cut short due to all of the difficulties associated with the pandemic. Most of the other shows also befell the same fate, but we do have some super good news for you guys. ABC has officially confirmed that Station 19 is indeed renewed for a brand new season 5!
That’s right, guys. You can totally expect to get blasted with another new season of Station 19 episodes when the show returns for the 2021/2022 season.
Currently, we’re not sure how many episodes season 5 will serve up. Hopefully, the cast and crew can get back to filming a full 20-24 episode season this year. We’ll have to wait and see. Additionally, we’re not sure when the new season 5 will premiere. We’ll have to wait until ABC releases their Fall 2021 schedule later this summer.
It’s not totally uncommon for ABC to hold back new Station 19 seasons until the mid-season. If that turns out to be the case this year, that would obviously make the wait much longer.
According to the folks over at ABC.com, ABC announced the Station 19, season 5 renewal back in early May 2021. During that time,Craig Erwich who is the president of ABC Entertainment and Hulu Originals had some very nice things to say about Station 19 and the show it was spun off from Grey’s Anatomy.
Craig stated, “‘Station 19’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ have done an incredible job of honoring real-life heroes by giving audiences an unflinching look at one of the biggest medical stories of our time.
Krista and her team of writers have continued to deliver the compelling and compassionate storytelling that is a hallmark of these shows, and they created some of the year’s most-talked-about moments in television. We’re so grateful to our talented casts and crews for their extraordinary work that connects with viewers everywhere, and we look forward to sharing even more defining moments with our fans next season.”
Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff had some great things to say about her team and casts stating, “The writers, directors, casts and crews of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘Station 19’ worked so hard to bring these shows to life this past season.
Keeping each other safe on set while paying tribute to the front-line heroes and first responders has been a challenge and a privilege. I’ve been truly blown away – particularly by our tireless crews – as they reinvented the TV-making wheel. Thank you to ABC and ABC Signature for the support and extraordinary partnership through this unprecedented season. We are so grateful for the opportunity to tell more stories.”
Station 19 season 4 averaged 5.202 million LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.84 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 15, which aired last Thursday night, May 27, 2021, drew in 4.588 million LIVE viewers and a 0.66 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 1 with 6.590 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 12 with 4.467 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was episode 1 with a 1.22 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 15 with a 0.66 ratings score.
