New Top Gun Maverick Movie Delivered Great Suspense, Action, Drama, Twists & More
Hey, movie fans. So, here’s the deal. I checked out the new “Top Gun: Maverick” movie this past Saturday night, May 28, 2022. So, I’m jumping on here, right now, to give you my review of it. If you haven’t seen it yet and are thinking about going to see it this weekend, hopefully my review will help.
I actually never saw the first Top Gun movie. I just saw clips from it. So, my review is just from the perspective of seeing it without really knowing what happened in the first one. However, this movie does deliver a lot of flashback moments to fill in certain gaps for first-time audiences like myself.
Like the title of this article, this movie was filled with a ton of great suspense right from the jump. Tom Cruise was back as Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell, and he wasted no time in delivering a super suspenseful scene by defying orders and flying a plane to its absolute limits.
Just when you thought Maverick was about to get fired, he’s ordered to return to the Top Gun program to train a group of F/A-18E/F Super Hornet pilots to pull off a flying mission that is not only super deadly, but almost impossible to pull off without suffering any casualties.
During his teaching mission, Maverick did everything he could to get these pilots to believe they could actually pull off this nearly impossible mission with their lives still intact, including pulling off an amazing test run when no one else could do it. It culminated with an ending that was filled with great action scenes, amazing twists, gut-wrenching suspense and feel good moments.
This movie also featured some very good humorous moments. I mean it literally had everything you could want in a movie in my opinion. There was never a dull moment ,for me, when I was watching this flick. If it didn’t have me on the edge of my seat with the suspense and action, it was making me laugh.
For those of you who like romance, it also had a little bit of romance in it too with Maverick and Jennifer Connelly’s character Penny Benjamin.
I liked the scenes that Miles Teller’s character Lt. Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw had with Maverick. They delivered some very dramatic and pretty funny moments in the face of danger.
Glen Powell’s character Lt. Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin served up an amazing twist towards the end of this movie. He’s pretty funny. His character is a bit of a jerk, but pretty funny, and he has a very redeeming moment in the movie.
There’s a lot of funny moments with Penny and Maverick that are both adorable and cute. All in all, this movie was way better than I thought it would be. It actually made me want to actually check out the first Top Gun movie. I plan to do that at some point. I feel like if you go see this movie, most of you will not be disappointed. For me, this movie is an A+. I loved it.
Alright, guys. That’s all I’ve got for this latest, “Top Gun: Maverick” report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
