The Bachelorette September 6, 2022 Eliminated Jason Alabaster (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, September 6, 2022, another new episode of The Bachelorette 2022 edition with headliners Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey did indeed air, and we saw another guy get eliminated before it was all over with.
Tonight’s episode picked up right where last night’s episode left off, with Erich talking about how he messed up with Gabby by bringing up his concerns about Gabby’s other relationships. Gabby had walked off, but she came back and told Erich, “Sometimes, I just need a second.” Erich said, “The reality is I love you, and I’m terrified of losing you.”
Gabby said, “I think your heart is in the right place, but I’ve worked my a#% off to make the right decisions.” Erich confessed to having some insecurities. She said, “It’s ok and gave him a hug.” He said, “I’m really sorry,” and they kissed.
After all of that, Gabby was seen telling host Jesse Palmer about how she had to rehash the same conversation with Erich again. She said, “The emotions of having to do that again is exhausting. I felt like I was being pressured. I just want to make sure the decision I make is not one made out of pressure.”
Next, we saw Gabby and Jason’s 1 on 1 date. Gabby greeted Jason with a big hug and kiss. She took him to play his college sport, which is tennis. He taught her a few lessons, and they had a great time. They kissed a couple of times on the court. Jason told the private cams, “This is one of the greatest dates I’ve ever had.” Gabby told the private cams, “Everything felt so natural with Jason. I wanted to share one his passions with him.”
After they wrapped up their tennis session, they went swimming. Gabby told Jason, “Everytime I see you, it’s like no time has passed,” and they kissed. Gabby told the private cams, “Being with Jason is more than fun. It’s like comfort. I’m truly falling in love with him. I can truly see him at the end with me. I think we could really balance each other out. He’s everything I could ever want.”
During the second half of their date, things started to crumble apart. Jason told the private cams, “I want to tell Gabby I’m not ready to get engaged.” During their talk, they talked about how great the first half of their date went. Then, Jason dropped the big bomb on Gabby, telling her, “I do know I’m into you, but I don’t think I’m fully at the point of an engagement yet. It’s just not something in my heart that feels right. I just want to be completely honest with you about how I feel.”
He mentioned that in this reality TV show bubble, “I feel like you don’t know me completely, and I don’t know you completely. I don’t feel like this relationship is not real. It’s just hard for me to get to an engagement with all the cameras and things. I’m just trying to be real about all of this.”
Gabby said she understood, but we could definitely see the disappointment in her face as soon as Jason told her he wasn’t ready to be engaged. Surely enough, Gabby told the private cams, “Jason was the one I always saw at the end. So, it was very disappointing to hear from him that he’s not ready. This information would’ve been good to know before now.” Then, she cried.
Later, Jason told Gabby, “I’m just trying to stay true to myself. I don’t want to walk away from this. I feel a true connection to you. You’re totally the reason I stayed. I think we could really build on this relationship if given the chance. I totally see us progressing in real life after we spend more time together.” Then, Gabby kissed him, and they eventually agreed to spend the night together to talk more about what their relationship could really be if given more time to explore it.
Gabby told the private cams, “I’m feeling conflicted. I don’t want to say goodbye to him because I know what we have is so precious.”
The next morning, things had definitely changed for the worse. Gabby told the private cams that she and Jason couldn’t agree on what to do about their relationship, and they eventually agreed that it wasn’t going to work.
She went to talk to Jason again. Jason explained to Gabby,”I really did need all this time to know how I felt about all of this, and it just isn’t going to work for us. I’m sorry.” Gabby said, “You don’t have to say sorry. I get it. I think I was the only one ever fighting for this relationship, and you were just kinda following my lead.” Then, they broke up and gave each other a hug goodbye.
Gabby told the private cams, “I feel so stupid. I thought I knew Jason. I tried not to be reckless with other people, but he was reckless with me. He never loved me. So, what were we doing. He didn’t want an engagement. He didn’t want me. Johnny also didn’t want me. What is it about me that’s so hard to love? Am I too broken for anyone to love? It does take the right person to love me, and they might not be here.”
Next up, was Rachel and Zach’s 1 on 1 date footage. They greeted each other with a big hug and kiss. Rachel told the private cams, “Zach is everything I want in a partner. His family was the most welcoming.” She took him to get drinks at a bar. They talked about his family life a little bit.
Zach told the private cams, “Me and Rachel just get each other when we hang out. I’m having an amazing time with her. I’m confident that the love has been growing. However, I’m still aware that she has other relationships. So, that won’t be an easy talk.”
They also went to a see a psychic who said, “Rachel is worried about the past repeating itself.” Rachel did agree with the psychic. Rachel told the private cams, “I’m struggling between my three guys. They’re all so incredible. I’m so confused right now.”
During the second half of their date, Rachel and Zach talked over drinks. Rachel told Zach, “I still have fears of being blindsided again, but you make me feel so safe, and I do see a future with you.” Zach said, “I know you had a hard time last season, and I don’t want to add to that. I want to support you and be there for you.” Then, they kissed.
Zach told the private cams, “I just want Rachel to know she can always be safe with me.” They agreed to go to the fantasy suite. The next morning, the had breakfast and talked some more.
Zach told the private cams that things didn’t go very well during he and Rachel’s overnight date. He said, “Rachel kept expressing concern to me about if I’m really ready to get engaged, and that scared me.” He thought she was putting up a front of some sort.
Zach talked to host Jesse Palmer about what happened between him and Rachel during the overnight date saying, “I’m completely lost right now. Things were immediately different when we were in the fantasy suite. It felt like she wasn’t showing her true self when the cameras were away.
She expressed that she was concerned about my age, which is 25, and she’s 26. She was wondering if I’m really ready for marriage. I feel completely gut punched by this. I’m sad, and I need to figure this out. I might never recover from this. I don’t know how to go about this right now. I need to talk to Rachel before the rose ceremony.” Jesse said, “Of course.”
Next, things shifted back to Gabby’s situation. She told the private cams, “I’m ready to be done. My person might not be here. I want to be loved for who I am. I’m scared I could leave here alone.”
Then, they cut back to Zach telling the private cams, “During the overnight date with Rachel, I felt like I was talking to a stranger. It was the most unauthentic conversation I’ve ever had. I don’t think I got the real Rachel. I’m upset. I need answers. I have to tell Rachel how I feel.”
Next, we saw Rachel arriving for the rose ceremony. Jesse greeted her and told her, “Gabby won’t be joining you at this rose ceremony. It will be all about you and your final three guys.”
From there, we got footage of Gabby back with Erich. She told him, “After my date with Jason, it gave me the clarity I needed. You’ve always fought for me. You’re the only one left, and I do know that I love you,” and they kissed. Gabby told the private cams, “Erich is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. It feels so right. It feels like a fairytale. I can’t believe he’s all mine. It feels so good and incredibly meant to be.”
After all of that, Zach asked Rachel, “Can we speak” just before she was ready to pass out roses. She said, ” Yeah.” And that was it for tonight’s episode. I know, I know. ABC is so bad. They always leave us hanging.
Host Jesse Palmer came on to tell us that we’re not going to see this important talk between Rachel and Zach in tonight’s episode. We’re going to see it in next week’s new episode, which is scheduled to air on Tuesday night, September 13, 2022. Yes, there will be no more Monday nights for this season of The Bachelorette. The final two episodes will air on Tuesday nights. So, be sure to make note of that.
