New Dateline NBC March 31, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “Dateline NBC” fans. We are back with more great news for you guys because the NBC people will indeed serve up another brand new episode of Dateline NBC tonight, March 31, 2023. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s new episode will be the 24th installment for Dateline NBC’s current season 31, and we’ve got a preview of it for you in this article.
We were able to get a hold of an official press release for tonight’s new, March 31, 2023 episode straight from NBC. So, we’re definitely going to reference it for this preview session. Let’s get into it.
First thing off the top is the title for tonight’s new episode. It’s called, “Justice for Kristin Smart.” In this episode, correspondent Josh Mankiewicz is going to do an exclusive interview with Kristin Smart’s parents. They will talk about how they feel in regards to the sentencing of their daughter’s killer Paul Flores.
Kristin’s father Stan is apparently frustrated with the police’s handling of the initial investigation, and he will elaborate on that. There will be other interviews with San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office detective Clint Cole, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Ian Parkinson, Your Own Backyard podcast host Chris Lambert, prosecutor Chris Peuvrelle, witnesses to the night Kristin disappeared, her college friends and more.
NBC’s official description for tonight’s new, March 31, 2023 episode reads like this, “The parents of Kristin Smart speak with correspondent Josh Mankiewicz in their first network exclusive interview since the recent sentencing of Paul Flores, their daughter’s killer.
In the two-hour special, Kristin’s father Stan opens up about his frustration with the California Polytechnic State University campus police’s handling of the initial investigation after Kristin disappeared while walking home from an off-campus party.
He explained that officers told him Kristin was “doing some things that would put her at risk… he was portraying to me that our daughter disappeared, and if she was dead, she’d brought it onto herself, which was totally wrong.” Kristin’s mother Denise added, “It was a different era. There was a lot of victim shaming.”
In response to Dateline’s request for comment, a spokesperson from California Polytechnic State University said, “It is never appropriate to describe a victim as promiscuous, and it runs completely counter to our practices and procedures.”
Justice for Kristin Smart also features interviews with insiders connected to the case, including San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office detective Clint Cole, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Ian Parkinson, Your Own Backyard podcast host Chris Lambert, prosecutor Chris Peuvrelle, witnesses to the night Kristin disappeared, her college friends and more.”
