The Neighborhood Season 5 May 22, 2023 Episode 22 Is The Finale. Season 6 Is Happening
Hey, “The Neighborhood” fans. We’ve got some great news and some bad news for you guys in this report. The bad news is that tonight’s episode 22 was indeed the very last one for The Neighborhood’s current season 5. That’s right, guys. Season 5 is officially a wrap as of tonight. You won’t get to see anymore new episodes for a pretty good while, especially with this writers strike threatening to halt regularly scheduled production dates.
The good news is that you will get to see a new episode of The Neighborhood at some point in the future because CBS has officially renewed The Neighborhood for a brand new season 6! That’s right, guys. The Neighborhood will be back with another new slate of episodes next season.
According to the folks over at Deadline.com, this new season 6 renewal came very early. CBS actually renewed it way back in January 2023. So, they were very happy with its performance.
In fact, Amy Reisenbach who is the president of CBS Entertainment definitely confirmed how happy CBS is with The Neighborhood during the renewal announcement saying, ““The Neighborhood has become a hit by not only delivering laughs but by telling stories of cultural impact.
From gentrification to Black Lives Matter, to addiction and pregnancy loss, the incredible writers and this amazing cast push boundaries and endlessly entertain us. As they film their 100th episode this week, directed by Cedric the Entertainer, we are thrilled to announce that we are welcoming this outstanding series back for a sixth season.”
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, The Neighborhood season 5 averaged 5.412 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.52 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 21, which aired last Monday night, May 15, 2023, managed to draw in 4.921 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.53 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 11 with 6.411 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 20 with 4.734 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was episode 11 with a 0.66 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 10 with a 0.40 ratings score. If you include the numbers from the streaming platforms, the average viewership numbers per episode jumps to about 7.3 million viewers. The Neighborhood is the number 3 comedy series on Paramount+.
