Chicago Fire Season 11 May 24, 2023 Episode 22 Is The Finale. Season 12 Is Happening
Hey,”Chicago Fire” fans. We hope that tonight’s episode 22 was very satisfactory for you, especially since it was indeed the very last episode of Chicago Fire’s current season 11. That’s right, guys. That’s going to be it for Chicago Fire for quite some time, especially since this ongoing writers strike is threatening to halt production start dates.
Anyways, we do have some terrific news for you guys because we can officially confirm that NBC did give Chicago Fire a brand new, season 12 renewal order. So, your favorite show will indeed be back to deliver another new slate of episodes next season. Currently, we don’t have an episode count or a premiere date for the new season 12. We will definitely have to wait for further announcements from NBC to deliver that important information.
According to NBC.com ,the season 12 renewal was just announced earlier this month, May 2023.
During the season 12 renewal announcement, Lisa Katz who is the president of scripted programming at NBCUniversal and Streaming delivered a very positive statement to the production team for all of the Chicago shows as they were all renewed at the same time. She said, “We understand the emotional connection our audience has with these characters and we can’t wait to bring more of their stories to the forefront next season. A huge thank you to Dick and his amazing team who are the masters of producing incredibly compelling television week after week.”
Dick Wolf who is the creator of the Chicago line of shows also chimed in with some positive words for NBC stating, “I’m pleased to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC. All six shows being picked up again is the ultimate accolade to our incredible casts, producers, and writers. I’d also like to thank our loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for what will be a cumulative 84 seasons.”
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Chicago Fire season 11 averaged 6.739 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.62 ratings score. The most recent episode 21, which aired last Wednesday night, May 17, 2023, managed to draw in 6.021 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.49 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 3 with 7.352 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 20 with 5.946 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was episode 3 with a 0.77 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 20 with a 0.44 ratings score. So, that was definitely another very strong performance from Chicago Fire. There’s no doubt as to why NBC renewed it.
