We’ve recently tracked down how many episodes are left along with some other miscellaneous info.
Yeah, it turns out that the 10 episodes CBS recently aired for the 14th season of Blue Bloods was actually considered a first half of season 14. So, they’re going to release another 8 episodes this fall 2024 and call them second half of season 14. After that, the show is done forever unless a miracle happens and CBS suddenly decides out of nowhere to reverse their cancellation decision.
According to Deadline.com, these 8, new episodes are supposed to start sometime in October 2024. We got the 8 episode count from the folks over at http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/blue-bloods/”target=”blank”>TheFutoncritic.com. They’re telling us that there’s a total of 18 episodes for season 14. Since 10 have already aired, we did a little deductive reasoning to get to the 8 episode count that will cap off the rest of season 14.
According to Deadline.com, CBS made the announcement to cancel Blue Bloods in early May 2024. During the announcement, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach had some kind words to say about the show, and she wanted to make sure it got a good sendoff stating, “We really want to thank the cast and crew, everyone involved in the show. We absolutely will miss the family dinners. It is important to give show the sendoff it deserves.”
Additionally, Reisenbach indicated that they feel they need to refresh the schedule as part of the reasoning for the cancellation stating, “We love this cast, we love their passion for the show. All shows have to come to an end. It’s important to us to refresh the schedule. We are going to end the show come December.”
Also, Frank Reagan star Tom Selleck made a statement during the cancellation announcement saying, “For the past 13 years, it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family.
Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors, and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes.”
