Dancing With The Stars October 22 Eliminated Phaedra Parks & Val (Recap)

Hey, “Dancing With The Stars” fans. Tonight, October 22, 2024, another new performances/results episode for Dancing With The Stars’ current season 33 did indeed hit the air, and another unlucky couple did get the boot at the end of it.

The theme for tonight’s new episode was “Disney Night.” The judges: Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli were all on hand once again.

Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold kicked off tonight’s performances with a Charleston routine. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “This was a fantastic performance. You danced like a hero, but a little off time. You stayed ahead of the music the whole time.”

Derek said, “I loved the athleticism, but yes the timing still needs work.” Bruno said, “I appreciated the attack of the dance, but yet again, you were racing and need to work on timing.” Carrie Ann gave Stephen and Rylee an 8 score, Derek an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total 24 points out of a possible 30 points.

Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber served up a Rumba routine. Afterwards, Derek said, “I see you improving every week, but you need more fluidity through the rib cage.” Bruno said, “I liked the soft, romantic, sophisticated style, but you messed up an overhead turn and lost balance.” Carrie Ann said, “This was your best dance so far because you’re learning the technique.” Carrie Ann gave Jenn and Sasha an 8 score, Derek an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 24 points.

Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson delivered a Samba number. Afterwards, Bruno said, “You made it look natural, but you need to work on the bounce.” Carrie Ann said, “You were exactly like a Disney character brought to life, but the bounce was lacking and your steps were a little big.” Derek said, “I loved all the content in it, but you need to work on your arms a little.” Carrie Ann gave Joey & Jenna an 8 score, Derek an 8, Bruno a 9 for a total of 25 points.

Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong danced a Paso Doble. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “This was a passionate, powerful performance that proved us wrong from last week.” Derek said, “This performance was fierce, strong and confident.” Bruno said, “This performance had bite from the queen of the night with power, strength and attitude.” Carrie Ann gave Chandler and Brandon a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.

Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy delivered a Jazz dance. Afterwards, Derek said, “This felt like a Broadway show, and you’re confident, though there were times you seemed to be waiting for him.” Bruno said, “The slow sections were great, but you need to not anticipate your partner. You need to trust him.” Carrie Ann said, “I want to see you exaggerate the movements so they will fill the space.” Carrie Ann gave Phaedra & Val an 8 score, Derek an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 24 points.

Danny Amendola and Witney Carson danced a Jazz routine. Afterwards, Bruno said, “I like how you incorporated the opening of the movie. It was strong and right on it.” Carrie Ann said,”This performance had everything, and you have developed confidence.” Derek said,”This performance was a viral hit, beautiful.” Carrie Ann gave Danny and Witney a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.

Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach rocked a Tango dance. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “You’re an artist, but there were a lot of mistakes, and you went off time a lot.” Derek said,”I was hypnotized by your smile, and the frame was good considering the height difference.” Bruno said,”This performance was fun, and I appreciate how much work you put in.” Carrie Ann gave Dwight and Daniella an 8 score, Derek an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 24 points.

Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten delivered a Jazz dance. Afterwards, Derek said, “You embodied the character, but I would have liked to see more dance.” Bruno said, “This performance was true to character, but you could accomplish more on the dance floor.”

Carrie Ann said, “You’re changing the narrative about womanhood and strength, but I also think the routine could have featured more.” Carrie Ann gave Ilona a 9 score, Derek an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 25 points.

At this point, they did the team dances. Team Roar consisting of: Dwight (team captain) and Daniella, Danny and Witney, Stephen and Rylee, and Phaedra and Val performed first to “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” from “The Lion King” movie.

Afterwards, Bruno said,”This routine was great fun with great pictures and images, but the sync wasn’t entirely there.” Carrie Ann said,”The camaraderie stood out, but the celeb section was kinda off.” Derek said,”I enjoyed the team dynamic.” Carrie Ann gave Team Roar an 8 score, Derek an 8, Bruno an 8 for a total of 24 points.

TEAM GOOFS consisting of: Ilona (team captain) and Alan, Joey and Jenna, Chandler and Brandon, and Jenn and Sasha performed to “I2I” from “A Goofy Movie.” Afterwards, Carrie Ann said,”This performance was brilliant, and it took advantage to every single moment.” Derek said, “I loved it too.” Bruno said,”This performance was slick, and you couldn’t tell which woman was the pro.” Carrie Ann gave Team Goofs a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.

After all of that, they revealed that everyone was safe and through to next week except for Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy. They were eliminated. How do you guys feel about that? Let us know in the comments section.
