Tonight’s new episode featured the semi-final rounds. All the judges: Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli were all on hand again to serve up their critiques, praises and scores.

Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong kicked off tonight’s performances with a Salsa routine. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “It was amazing, and this showed a new side. I liked the artistry and the lifts.” Derek said, “You danced like you are already in the finals, but I would have liked to have seen more Salsa content.”

Bruno said, “That cocktail hit the spot. You started smooth. Then you cranked up the heat.” Carrie Ann gave Chandler a perfect 10 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 10 for a total of 29 points out of a possible 30 points.

Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson delivered a Foxtrot dance. Afterwards, Derek said, “This was a master class wrapped in a breath of fresh air. The frame was pristine.” Bruno said,”It was a total golden age, Hollywood performance, and you’re a matinee idol. It was a pure high-quality foxtrot.” Carrie Ann said,”The race is on. It was fabulous.” Carrie Ann gave Joey and Jenna a perfect 10 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for a perfect 30 score!

Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten served up a Paso Doble routine. Afterwards, Bruno said, “You need to work on more of the flamenco flavor, but it was an otherwise excellent performance.” Carrie Ann said, “You have grown more than anyone else this season.” Derek said,”This performance was sharp, deliberate and intentional.” Carrie Ann gave Ilona and Alan a 9 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 9 for a total of 28 points.

Danny Amendola and Witney Carson delivered a Viennese Waltz. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said,”I’m proud of you for approaching your dances with authenticity. The chemistry and trust make the magic.” Derek said, “I’m impressed because the frame has improved and the choreography has improved, but you lose a little bit of the performance aspect.” Bruno said,”I see how much work you put into it, but your bum keeps sticking out.” Carrie Ann gave Danny and Witney a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.

Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold served up Cha Cha dance. Afterwards, Derek said, “I’m rooting for you, but I feel like the dance got the better of you.” Bruno said, “It wasn’t quite Ricky Martin, but you captured the feel of the dance, despite problems with foot placement and hip action.” Carrie Ann said,”You went backwards this week with the musicality.” Carrie Ann gave Stephen and Rylee an 8 score, Derek an 8, Bruno a 9 for a total of 25 points.

At this point, the couples served up their second performances. Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong kicked it off with a Foxtrot dance. Afterwards, Bruno said, “The content was at an incredible technical level.” Carrie Ann said,”You’re still growing, but there were two unintentional lifts.” Derek said, “I feel Brandon has really grown this season. It was a phenomenal performance.” Carrie Ann gave Chandler and Brandon a 9 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 10 for a total of 29 points.

Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson did a Paso Doble dance. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “I loved the attack and passion, but you were a little ahead of the music, and there was a little stumble at the end.” Derek said, “You paso-ed all over that doble. Your timing is his best part.” Bruno said,”It was smoldering, like a rock idol, but you did mess it up a little bit.” Carrie Ann gave Joey and Jenna a 9 score, Derek a 10, Bruno a 9 for a total of 28 points.

Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten danced a Viennese Waltz. Afterwards, Derek said,”This performance was delicate and graceful. It could have used more stride.” Bruno said,”It had flow and musicality, as well as vulnerability.” Carrie Ann said,”I’m honored to have watched that dance and to have seen her embrace the yin to match her yang.” Carrie Ann gave Ilona and Alan a perfect 10 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 10 for a total of 29 points.

Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold danced a Tango number. Afterwards, Bruno said, “I could see you trying to get the timing right, and you did it.” Carrie Ann said, “I was impressed because the glasses mishap could screw up your depth perception.” Derek said,”This was much better than your first dance.” Carrie Ann gave Stephen and Rylee a perfect 10 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 28 points.

Danny Amendola and Witney Carson wrapped up tonight’s performances with a Salsa dance. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said,”The lifts were well executed.” Derek said,”You blew the roof off the place. There were some issues between the lifts, but the lifts were a perfect 10.” Bruno said, “It was a wonderful end to a spectacular night.” Carrie Ann gave Danny and Witney a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.

After all of that, they revealed that none of the couples got eliminated tonight. So, everyone is going through to the finals next week.
