New High Potential Season 2 Is Happening. ABC Renewed It
According to a recent report from the folks over at Deadline.com , you High Potential fans can rejoice because the people over at ABC did officially renew High Potential for a brand new season 2. They did it pretty early too.
Deadline is telling that the season 2 renewal announcement actually occurred in the latter part of January 2025. They’re also telling us that the new season 2 is expected to serve up more than the 13 episodes that season 1 did.
Apparently, they had to cut the season 1 production early due to some other TV obligations that the show’s main star Kaitlin Olson had to fulfill. She also stars in another show on FX titled, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Most of you who are fans of hers will most likely already know that.
It’s reported that High Potential’s season 1 was a major success, drawing in over 30 million viewers across all the viewing platforms. It currently ranks as the number 1 broadcast entertainment series among adults 18-49.
Apparently, the show delivered ABC its largest viewing audience in over four years back on January 7, 2025 when it returned from its Fall break. Shortly after that, ABC jumped to renew it for a brand new season 2.
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, High Potential season 1 averaged 4.274 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.36 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 12, which aired last Tuesday night, managed to draw in 4.844 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.35 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 9 with 5.786 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 6 with 3.092 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was episode 8 with a 0.50 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 7 with a 0.25 ratings score. Yep, with those numbers, it’s not hard to see why ABC renewed it. Those are the kind of numbers that you usually see from CBS shows.
