New 20/20 February 21 Episode To Feature Tragic Death Of Gabby Petito (Preview)
ABC is confirmed to air another new episode of 20/20 tonight, February 21, 2025, and it will feature a look at the tragic disappearance and death of a woman named Gabby Petito and more. This new episode is the 18th installment for this current season 47.
ABC put out an official press release for this new episode 18. The first thing it reveals is the official title, which is called, “Gabby Petito: Her Parents Speak Out.”
Again, in tonight’s new episode 18, the 20/20 team is going to take a deep look at a story about a woman named Gabby Petito. She took a trip across the country in a van with her fiance Brian Laundrie. During it, they visited national parks and monuments. They documented the experiences on social media.
However, a couple of months into the trip, Gabby disappeared all of a sudden, and her parents reported her missing. Not long after that, the detectives who worked this case found her lifeless body near Grand Teton National Park.
Gabby’s fiance Brian was immediately named a person of interest for her death. This episode will feature Gabby’s parents doing an interview with the 20/20 team.
GMA3 co-anchor Eva Pilgrim handled the reporting duties for this episode and case. It features interviews with: Gabby’s mother, Nicole Schmidt, and her husband, Jim Schmidt; Gabby’s father, Joe Petito, and his wife, Tara Petito; as well as others involved in the case.
ABC’s official description for this new episode 18 of 20/20 season 47 reads like this, “Gabby Petito hoped her upcoming trip with fiancé Brian Laundrie would be an adventure of a lifetime when they outfitted a van to travel across the country, visiting national parks and monuments and documenting it via social media.
After several months into their trip, Gabby disappeared, and her parents reported her missing. Soon after, authorities discovered her body near Grand Teton National Park, and Brian was named a person of interest in her death. In their first network television interview together, Gabby Petito’s parents sit down with “GMA3” co-anchor Eva Pilgrim in an all-new episode of “20/20.”
An alternate description reads like this: “’20/20′ EXAMINES THE MURDER OF GABBY PETITO IN AN ALL-NEW EPISODE, FEATURING THE FIRST NETWORK TELEVISION INTERVIEW WITH HER PARENTS.”
Again, ABC’s press release confirmed that another new episode of 20/20 is scheduled to make its way to the air tonight, February 21, 2025 in the 8 pm central standard time slot. It will be a 2-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
