Star Trek Starfleet Academy New Season 2 Is Happening. Paramount Plus Renewed It Early
Today, March 12, 2026, Paramount Plus released the latest episode 10 of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’s current season 1 onto its streaming platform, and it was indeed the finale episode for season 1. That led us to the question of will there be a new season 2?
Gladly, we can officially confirm with you guys, right now, that there will certainly be a new season 2. According to Deadline.com and their sources, Paramount Plus served up a super early, season 2 renewal of the show way, way back in October of 2024 when season 1 was still in production! So, they never had any doubts about how well they thought this show would do.
They say the executive producer, co-showrunner and director of Starfleet Academy Alex Kurtzman delivered the good news during a livestream from the show’s set located over in Toronto Canada. He was part of the Star Trek universe panel at the New York Comic-Con event at the time.
We’re hearing from Screenrant.com that season 2 wrapped up filming in February 2026, and that it will feature another new 10 episodes. No official release date has been announced yet, but it’s believed that it will premiere in early 2027.
Again, Paramount Plus did renew Star Trek: Starfleet Academy for a brand new season 2. So, get ready to see more new episodes of it at some point in the future.
