Sheriff Country New Season 2 Is Happening. CBS Renewed It Early
Tonight, May 22, 2026, CBS is airing the 20th episode of Sheriff Country’s current, premiere season 1, and it is the season finale episode. So, we did hunt down whether or not CBS renewed it for a brand new season 2, and we did find out that CBS did ,in fact, renew it, and they renewed it very early.
According to the folks over at Deadline.com and their sources, CBS decided to go ahead and renew Sheriff Country for a brand new season 2 way back in December 2025. So, CBS must have been extremely happy with its performance.
Deadline also mentioned that CBS renewed their other new show, “Boston Blue” for a new season 2 at the same time. So, if you’re a fan of that show as well, that is some double good news for you.
During the renewal announcement, the president of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach had some wonderful things to say about both of these shows stating, “Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits with audiences quickly embracing Boston Blue and Sheriff Country across broadcast and streaming.
These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera.”
There was no mention of when Sheriff Country’s new season 2 will premiere or the episode count. We’ll have to give you those details at a later date when CBS releases them.
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Sheriff Country season 1 managed to average 4.800 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.24 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.
Again, CBS officially renewed Sheriff Country for a brand new season 2. That is all we’ve got for this latest, “Sheriff Country” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
