Mark Cuban Apologizes for Acting Crazy
The wild and fancy free Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban issued a public apology on his blog today for a heated exchange of words between him and Lydia Moore, Nugget’s forward, Kenyon Martin’s mother after Game 3 of their playoff series on Saturday May 9,2009. Apparently he called Kenyon Martin a thug and a punk. Then on game 4 of the playoffs there was a ton of tension in the stands. Lydia Moore had beer poured on her,and his girlfriend was verbally harassed. Also LaLa Vazquez who is the girlfriend of Nugget’s player Carmelo Anthony had an unpleasant altercation with a security guard ,and left the game after that. After the game, Mark Cuban posted his apology on his blog stating that this situation has gotten out of control.
He went on to write : ““When tempers and such start impacting the fan experience both in Dallas and Denver, and it requires special security, that’s not what I want for Mavs or Nuggets fans. No one takes more abuse and gets more threats on the road than I do. So I know exactly how it feels. I’ve also had my family and friends spit on at games in this series. So I know how unpleasant that is as well.â€
Cuban also stated that he shouldn’t have said anything to Martin’s mother,and that he hopes she will accept his apology.He then invited all the Nuggets’ family members to watch the game from his suite, and to take Kenyon to dinner during the off-season.
The Dallas Mavericks won game 4 after a devastating close,last minute,contoversial defeat in game 3, so now the Denver nuggets lead the series 3-1.
