New Pacific Rim movie delivered great action,drama,special effects & more. Warner Bros. Pictures released their new hardcore action flick, “Pacific Rim,’ into theaters this past Thursday. I just checked it out, and thought it was very fun and entertaining to watch as it served up major action,drama,an interesting plotline,and more. It stars: Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad William Henke, and Diego Klattenhoff.
In the new flick, giant monsters,named Kaijus, rose up through a portal in a crevasse beneath the Pacific Ocean, resulting in a war that takes millions of lives and quickly consumes humanity’s resources. To combat the monsters, a massive, humanoid fighting machine, called Jaegers, was designed. It was simultaneously controlled by two pilots whose minds are bound in a neural link which lets them share the mental strain which would otherwise overwhelm a single pilot.
At first, the Jaeger program was successful at fending off the Kaiju attacks. However, over time, Kaijus crossed through the portal at a faster rate,and the new Kaiju are more well-adapted for fighting the Jaegers, causing them to become less effective. As a result, the now-united governments of Earth, lost faith in the Jaegers’ ability to defend humanity, and cut off funding.
From there, the funding was diverted to building the “Wall of Life”, a coastal fortification to protect Earth’s cities. The four remaining Jaegers, are redeployed to Hong Kong to defend the unfortified coastline until the wall is completed. Eventually, Stacker Pentecost, commander of the Jaeger forces, devised a plan to end the war with an illegally-acquired Russian nuclear warhead after a kaiju breached the Wall.
The plan was to enter into the portal and set off the nuclear warhead,causing it to destroy the portal passageway. This plan led to a huge conclusion that involved a ton of suspense, hardcore fighting action,and more as the job was much easier said than done.
