New I, FrankenStein movie delivered lots of action,drama but weak & weird story. Lionsgate released their new action/horror flick, “I,Frankenstein,” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and I have to agree with the top critics on this one ,and give it a pretty poor rating, because the storyline just didn’t interest me at all. It was just so weird.
The only good note about this film, is that it did offer a lot of action, but the action just seemed pointless,since the plotline fell seriously flat. It stars: Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey, and Aden Young.
In the new flick, Frankenstein monster (Aaron Eckhart) is rescued from demons by gargoyles after killing his creator ,Dr. Victor Frankenstein’s wife, Elizabeth. From there, the Gargoyle queen, Lenore ,names Frankenstein, Adam. Shortly after that, Adam escapes the gargoyle palace with special gargoyle weapons that can kill demons. From there, Adam spends most of his life defending himself from the demons that constantly attack him.
Meanwhile, demon prince, Naberius (Bill Nighy), who is disguised as billionaire businessman ,Charles Wessex, tries to capture Adam so he can unlock the secret to give life. Naberius’ ultimate plan is to have demons possess reanimated corpses that cannot be destroyed.
Naberius eventually captures Adam to set up the whole demon reanimated process. This eventually leads to a huge,dramatic conclusion, where Adam’s old gargoyle crew , make their way to Naberius’ location to try and stop the big ritual. Lots of fight action, fire, and killing takes place before Naberius meets his ultimate demise, and more. It was just a really chaotic storyline. One in which I really had no interest in following. The damn thing put me right to sleep a number of times.
I was able to stay awake for the finale parts as they served up the most action and excitement. But even that seemed lack- luster since the plotline was so flat as a whole. Actress ,Yvonne Strahovski, played Terra who was really close with Adam. She offered up some good eye candy. However, as a whole, the movie was just very uninteresting for me. I didn’t buy the whole Frankenstein is a hero bit. That’s how they tried to pass him off as. I mean, it was just really weird for me.
