New Gone Girl Movie Delivered Crazy Plotline,Drama & More
20th Century FOX released their new drama/thriller flick, “Gone Girl” into theaters this weekend. I just watched it,and thought that it was quite interesting with a wicked crazy storyline, hardcore drama, and more. Its stars: Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, Carrie Coon, and David Clennon.
In the new flick, character Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) has major problems with his wife ,Amy Dunne (Rosemund Pike) to the point of violence. He also cheats on her with a hot 20 something. So, one day, Nick returns home to find a smashed coffee table. His wife Amy is missing. Her disappearance creates a media frenzy, and his awkward behavior on camera is interpreted as evidence of psychopathy and guilt.
If that weren’t enough, he learns that Amy was preggers and the circumstantial evidence mounts against him, causing him to become the prime suspect for her supposed murder. From there, we’re given the backstory with Amy narrating how she set up the whole thing to frame Nick out of pure vengeance and just being plain old fed up with his BS.
Amy now presumed dead, is all by her lonesome and meets some people that eventually rob her of all her cash, so she has to turn to her wealthy first boyfriend, Desi Collings (Neil Patrick Harris), for a place to stay. Meanwhile, things continue to get even worse for Nick to the point that he’s finally arrested for the murder of Amy, and has to eventually get bonded out of jail by his lawyer, and prepare for a murder trial that’s just filled with planted circumstantial evidence.
Nick’s lawyer also gets Nick to give a TV interview in an effort to change the public’s perception, which also changes Amy’s, who watched the interview with Desi. After that, Amy diabolically creates a plan kill Desi and make it looked like she killed him while being raped, when really, she just viciously slashed his throat while they were having sex.
From there, we see Amy return home to Nick, claiming that she finally saw the man she originally married in that TV interview he gave. However, Nick despises her and wants to leave her, but she makes his life a living hell and uses his fertility clinic sperm to get herself pregnant and lock him in. It was a very weird conclusion.
Again, I thought this was a very interesting movie and the plotline was just crazy enough to keep me intrigued throughout. I wish it might have had a more happier ending, but it kinda fell in line with the rest of the crazy plot. I gave the movie a solid B- grade. Stay tuned.
