New John Wick Movie Delivered Great Action,Drama & More
Lionsgate released their new action/thriller flick, “John Wick,” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and thought it was very entertaining, delivering tons of hardcore violent, action scenes, tons of drama, and more. The movie stars: Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Adrianne Palicki, Dean Winters, Bridget Moynahan, Ian McShane, John Leguizmo, and Willem Dafoe.
In the new flick, character, John Wick, received a beautiful new puppy ,named Daisy, that was left for him by his deceased wife that he recently lost to cancer. He eventually bonds with the puppy and drives around a cool, vintage 1969 Mustang car. However, John has an encounter with a trio of Russian gang members at a gas station one day. Their leader ,Iosef, tries to make an offer to buy the Mustang, and John rudely tells him it’s not for sale after he gets on his nerves.
A few scenes later, John is violently attacked by losef and his gang after they broke into his house to wait for him. They ended up, killing his dog and stealing the Mustang. From there, John finds out that losef is the son of his former employer,Viggo Tarasov. Knowing how dangerous John is, Viggo gets highly upset at losef when he finds out what he did, and basically warns him that John will be coming for him.
Next, we John returning back to his old life as an assassin and making all the preparations needed to take out losef and anyone who attempts to protect him. Naturally, Viggo gets everyone possible to help protect losef from John’s wrath. However, slowly ,but surely John works his way through the pyramid of men that try to stop him until he finally reaches losef to swiftly put a bullet in his head.
But the action didn’t stop there as Viggo just can’t leave well enough alone and kills one of the men that helped protect John, which fueled John to go after Viggo and finish him off as well. This, of course led to an extremely action-filled and intense conclusion that involved a vicious car chase and shootout scene, along with a big showdown between Viggo and John.
Again, I really enjoyed this flick for the entire runtime. There was never any boring scenes wit this one. The plotline was very straight forward and easy to understand. John just wanted to kill the bastard that fucked him over, and that’s exactly what he ended up doing in very convincing fashion. I thought Keanu Reeves did a good job with the John Wick role, conveying the heavy intensity that it required. I gave it a great B+ grade. Stay tuned.
