New The DUFF Movie Delivered Great Comedy,Drama,Story & More
CBS Films released their new comedy flick, “The DUFF,” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and thought it was very entertaining, delivering a good mixture of laughs, drama , and romance. It stars: Allison Janney, Romany Malco, Mae Whitman, Ken Jeong, Bianca Santos, Robbie Amell, Bella Thorne, Skyler Samuels and Nick Eversman.
The movie revolved around character, Bianca (Mae Whitman), who is a content high school senior until her childhood, next door neighbor friend, Wesley (Robbie Amell), informs her that she is a DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) to her prettier, more popular friends, Jess and Casey.
This newfound information gets to Bianca so much that it causes her to end her friendship with Jess and Casey, and seek out Wesley’s help to unDUFF her in exchange for helping him pass his science class, which he is heavily failing. Unfortunately, the school’s hot mean chick/Wesley’s ex, Madison, does everything possible to sabotage Bianca’s progress with Wesley, including sending a very embarrassing video of Bianca throughout the entire school.
After getting over that, Bianca finally musters up the courage to ask her main crush, Toby, out on a date, which he happily accepts. Unfortunately, it turns out that Toby was only using Bianca to just get more information about her friends ,Casey and Jess. This eventually forces Bianca to finally start valuing what she feels about herself instead of what everyone else thinks about her, and be proud about how different she is.
It capped off with a some great, feel good moments as Bianca finally overcame her insecurities, got the guy she wanted , made up with Casey and Jess, and inspired many others just like her.
Again, I thought the movie was very entertaining. It delivered a lot of great comedy, which kept the cheesiness to a minimum. And it managed to send an overall ,positive message to boot. I gave it a nice A grade. Stay tuned. Also, get your favorite Movie stuff, and more by Clicking Here.
