Big Brother 19 Jason Dent Revealed Why He Voted Against Paul In The Finale
This past Wednesday night, September 20,2017, Big Brother season 19 contestant Jason Dent chatted it up with Rob Cesternino from “Rob Has A Podcast” in the backyard interviews. During this interview, Jason revealed why he was one of the five jurors that voted not to award the grand prize of $500,000 to houseguest Paul Abrahamian.
Jason revealed that he really had a problem with Paul keeping up the lie even after Jason was evicted. He just didn’t think that was necessary among other things. The interview kicked off with Rob saying, “Alright, we’re here with Jason aka Whistlenut. How you doing buddy?”
Jason said, “I’m doing amazing. I’m glad to be here. I’m glad it’s over.” Rob said, “Are you happy with this outcome tonight?”
Jason said, “You know what? I’m not unhappy. I feel like either way I was going to be rewarding bad behavior. But, I feel like both of those guys had their own attributes to their own game.”
Rob said, “So, we saw through the jury house the slow realization. Hey, we’ve been had. Paul was counterfeit. That was something that came together. Could you just take us through what those conversations were like with you and Alex?”
Jason said, “Yeah, me and Alex. I was really into Paul and Alex was too. So, it was a real personal, close connection. It was really hard to figure that out. Actually, when I got evicted, I thought it was Paul and Alex that had done it to me.
You know I had no idea about Josh. I was just shocked. It took me to the jury house to figure out what was exactly happening and to talk with the other people. Prior to that, I was only questioning Paul a couple of times when my gut was telling me there might not be something right. But, nothing ever really stuck.”
Rob said, “And a lot of times, Alex would change your mind.” Jason said, “Yes, everytime she would change my mind. The thing that Alex had over me was not only did she have the physical game, but she had the mental game. She was a huge fan and she studied the game.
I hadn’t. So, I felt super vulnerable in that regard. I didn’t want to question anything that she said. I just wanted to trust her when it came to strategy and game play.”
Rob said, “How did you not wear the Whistlenut shirt tonight? It got so much play all season.” Jason said, “Good question just like some of the things in the house. It never ever crossed my mind.”
Rob said, “Was there anything that you were waiting to hear from Paul tonight that he could’ve said that might have changed your mind on that vote?”
Jason said, “You know I think the appropriate time for Paul to say what he needed to say should’ve been in his goodbye message. See, but he held on to the lie even in the goodbye message.”
Rob said, “That was the deal breaker for you?” Jason said, “Right, because I’m like, ‘Why even now after I’m out that you still played oblivious to what was happening?’ Because you wanted my vote in jury. You know what? If he would have said then, ‘Jason, man I had a real genuine connection with you and really appreciate everything that I said to you and you said to me. Sorry, but I’m after $500,000 bucks.’
I’d of been like ,’oh, right on!’ He would’ve had to say it directly to me because I was actually really on the fence tonight because I liked his speech. I was like, ‘You really did work hard.’ But, you know what? Josh worked hard in the front just being a complete crazy man, and Paul worked really hard in the back. So, it was tough.”
Rob said,”When you were in the hot tub with Josh that night and he was crying about there was something he had to do and it was to vote you out. Did you put that together in jury?”
Jason said, “Yes, I absolutely put that together in jury because he actually tried it again the day of my eviction in the wave room. And I was like, ‘good lord.’ I was like mentally horsepowerless. ha! ha!”
Rob said,”You also said tonight that your biggest regret in the house was that you didn’t stick up for yourself in the fight against Matt, right?”
Jason said, “No, I don’t regret that. I could care less about that because there’s no good outcome in that. I didn’t want to enter into that at all because I put him on the block. I wanted him to go out.”
Rob said, “What do you wish you could take back?” Jason replied with, “I would’ve everytime said taking back breaking Christmas’ foot. It was an accident. Breaking Christmas’ leg. I took something from her that I will never get back.”
Rob said, “You could argue that was a good game move?” Jason said,”She took that devastating thing and turned it into a huge positive.” Rob said, “Yeah, she did. Of course you got the big news while you were in the house from your wife about baby number two. Have you talked to her yet?”
Jason said, “No, I haven’t had a chance. And I cannot wait too because it couldn’t have happened at a better time. It really gave me a nice, happy place to go to when I was completely stressed and mind blown in the house.”
Rob said, “Let’s take some questions I got from the listeners of the podcast. Did you ever really think Alex turned her back on you?” Jason said, “You know what? Deep down, I was really, really hoping and I was thinking that it was “no.” I deep down knew that she wouldn’t, but I didn’t want to be ignorant to the possibility. You know what I mean? But, if I could go back in time, I would’ve grabbed her and hugged her and said hope to see you at the finale when you win.”
Rob said, “Did you check in with others around the house about what Paul was doing to compare notes? Because it doesn’t seem like anybody was doing that. It seems like you guys would’ve figured out Paul if you did.”
Jason said, “We absolutely would have. But, you know the thing is that was one of those weird things that you have so much trust in somebody which I don’t know why, but you don’t want them to think that you’re checking on them. I didn’t want him questioning my judgement if it got back to him.”
I didn’t want him thinking I was worried about it and everybody thought that. So, nobody said nothing because they all didn’t want to be like, ‘Oh you go talk to him and they’ll go and say, ‘Hey Paul. Jason was wondering if you’re telling the truth or not.’ Then you create unwarranted problems in your own alliance. So, I stayed away from it.”
Rob asked Jason if he knew he was going to be the target the week he didn’t use the veto on Matt if he had not won that HOH. Jason replied, “No, I did not know that.” Rob said, “Your name was actually up further in the order and you actually stayed in the game longer by winning that HOH.”
Jason laughed and said, “Not a shocker I guess but whooo! Perfect timing! Clueless until five seconds ago.”
Rob said, “Did you ever consider taking an apple from the Tree Of Temptation?” Jason said, “Nope. Ha! Ha! Never did consider it! Hindsight my man is 20 20! That would’ve been a good idea but had I got the “bounty on your head,” I would’ve been toast. The only one that would’ve done me any justice was the double veto. You know what I mean?”
Rob said, “Yeah, they should’ve put more good things on the tree. That would’ve been good. So, overall your Big Brother experience? Jason said it was awesome. Rob said, “Would you consider doing this again?” Jason said, “I would. I mean right out of the house, I would’ve been like absolutely not. Never. But, now I feel like I’m light years smarter.”
Rob went on to ask Jason what his future relationship with Paul looks like. Jason replied by saying, “I can’t wait until he decompresses a little bit so I can grab him, hug him and hopefully open that door back up.”
Rob said, “A lot of people were sadden about the isolation of Kevin in the house. Is everything good there?” Jason said, “Yes, I’m a huge fan of that man and I will be celebrating the New Year at his house.”
Alright, that wrapped up Jason’s interview with Rob Cesternino. In regards to his voting, it was what we had suspected. Paul should’ve stopped lying to them after they got evicted. It might have helped a lot. Stay tuned. Also, be sure to follow us on our Big Brother Facebook page for more Big Brother news by Clicking Here.
