Hey, “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” fans. We hope you guys enjoyed episode 10 tonight, especially since it is indeed the last episode for the show’s current, premiere season 1. That’s right, guys. You are going to have to wait for a while to see anymore new episodes of Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
The good news is that you will actually be able to see some more new episodes of Power Book III: Raising Kanan at some point in the future because STARZ did indeed renew the show for a brand new season 2! That’s right, guys. You can officially pop open your champagne bottles and celebrate.
According to the folks over at TV Line.com , STARZ actually gave Power Book 3: Raising Kanan an early, season 2 renewal back in early July 2021 before the first season even debuted! So, they definitely had a lot of confidence that it would do well for them.
The president and CEO of STARZ Jeffery Hirsch had some very positive words about the show during the renewal announcement. Apparently, he was thoroughly convinced that just one season Power Book 3: Raising Kanan just isn’t enough stating, “One season isn’t enough to tell the coming of age story of Kanan Stark and his mother, Raq, a fierce and successful woman who is a force of nature.
The anticipation globally for more of the Power universe made it clear that the Kanan story needs to continue.”
TV Line also mentioned that character Shawn ‘Famous’ Figueroa’s portrayer Antonio Ortiz has been bumped up to a series regular for season 2. So, if you’re a fan of him, you should be pretty delighted because you’ll get to see more of him in season 2.
We’re currently not sure when episode 2 will debut or how many episodes it will feature. However, we presume that it will debut next summer 2022 with another 10 episodes. We’ll have to wait and see to be 100 percent sure about that though. It just wouldn’t surprise us if that turns out to be the case.
Power Book 3: Raising Kanan season 1 averaged 380,000 LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.12 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 9, which aired last Sunday night, September 19, 2021, drew in 486,000 LIVE viewers and a 0.18 ratings score.

Those numbers only reflect the LIVE Neilson ratings and not the viewers that piled in through the streaming services and what not. So, we’re pretty sure this show had an even bigger audience.
