Hey,”The Walking Dead: Dead City” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed watching episode 6 tonight, especially since episode 6 was indeed the last episode for this current, premiere season 1 of The Walking Dead: Dead City. That’s right, guys. AMC only greenlit 6 episodes for this first season. So, that is it. You won’t see another new episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City for a while.

The good news is that we can officially tell you that you will get to see another new episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City at some point in the future because AMC did renew it for a brand new season 2.

According to the folks over at TVLine.com ,” AMC announced the season 2 renewal just a couple of days ago on July 21, 2023. They also mentioned that AMC decided to go ahead and renew the Daryl Dixon Walking Dead spinoff series for a new season 2 even though it hasn’t even premiered yet. It’s scheduled to start up on Sunday night, September 10, 2023.

During the renewal announcement of The Walking Dead: Dead City and Daryl Dixon Walking Dead spinoffs, the president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks Dan McDermott had some very positive and enthusiastic things to say about these new shows stating,”This next chapter in the Walking Dead Universe continues to thrive with a terrific inaugural season for Dead City and highly anticipated new journey for fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon.

We can’t wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicenter of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan. And, ahead of its debut, we’re thrilled to double down on Daryl as we bring the apocalypse to France, transforming Notre Dame, Pont du Gard and other iconic locales into an apocalyptic landscape unlike anything we’ve seen before.”

According to the LIVE Nielsen Ratings, The Walking Dead: Dead City season 1 averaged 698,000 LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.14 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 5, which aired last Sunday night, July 16, 2023, managed to draw in 701,000 LIVE viewers, and a 0.12 ratings score.

The most-viewed episode was episode 2 with 706,000 LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 3 with 681,000 LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.17 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 5 with a 0.12 ratings score. We’re pretty sure that after tacking on the numbers from the streaming platforms, the numbers are at least double those amounts.
