20/20 August 25, 2023 Episode Not New. It’s A Repeat. Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. We’re back on here to let you know that ABC does have another episode of 20/20 all queued up and ready to go for you guys tonight, August 25, 2023. Tonight’s episode will once again be a repeat episode since it’s still the offseason. We’ve got some preview information for this repeat episode for you guys who might not have seen it yet.
ABC served up a new, official press release for tonight’s August, 25, 2023 repeat episode. So, we’re going to certainly reference it for this preview session. Let’s get to it.
For starters, we’ve got an official title for tonight’s August 25, 2023 repeat episode of 20/20. It’s called,”Sincerely, the Happy Face Killer.” It originally aired way back on November 5, 2021.
In tonight’s August 25, 2023 repeat episode, the 20/20 team took a deep look at a story about a woman named Laverne Pavlinac. She fabricated a bizarre false confession that led detectives astray during the investigation of the first murder committed by Keith Hunter Jesperson, who is infamously known as the “Happy Face Killer.” Laverne’s false confession allowed Keith Hunter Jesperson to go on to kill seven more women before he was eventually tracked down and arrested.
American journalist Juju Chang handled the reporting duties for this episode and case. She reveals how Laverne Pavlinac’s false confession was able to fool the detectives by including intricate details. This episode also featured interviews with key individuals, such as Melissa Gavin, a friend of one of Jesperson’s victims, and John Ingram, the lead detective on Bennett’s murder case, Jim McIntyre, the prosecutor for Pavlinac and Sosnovske, shed light on the intricacies of the case.
The episode also offers insights from Pavlinac’s daughters, Darlene Carpenter and Bonnie McAlpine, as well as Michelle White, Bennett’s sister. Melissa Moore, Jesperson’s daughter, and bestselling author and former prosecutor Alafair Burke, who based her first novel on the case, contribute valuable perspectives.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s August 25, 2023 repeat episode of 20/20 reads like this, “ABC’s ‘20/20‘ brings viewers a gripping account of how a bizarre false confession led authorities astray in the investigation of the first murder committed by Keith Hunter Jesperson, infamously known as the “Happy Face Killer.”
This two-hour program delves into the chilling story of how Laverne Pavlinac’s fabricated confession diverted attention from Jesperson, enabling him to remain at large and claim the lives of at least seven more women before his eventual arrest.” An alternate description tells us, “A woman frames her boyfriend for murder and implicates herself, but the real culprit is a serial killer.”
Again, ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 will be a repeat episode again tonight, August 25, 2023, and it’s scheduled to hit your TV sets, starting at approximately 8 pm central standard time.
