New 20/20 September 22, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. We are back in your faces again ,this week, to let you know that ABC does have another new episode of 20/20 all queued up and ready to air tonight, September 22, 2023. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s new episode will be the 38th one for 20/20’s current season 45, and we’ve got some new preview information for it.
ABC served up a new, official press release for tonight’s new, September 22, 2023 edition. So, we will certainly reference it for this preview session. Let’s get into it.
First off, NBC revealed that tonight’s new, September 22, 2023 episode does have an official title. It’s called, “Taken In The Night.”
In tonight’s new, September 22, 2023 episode, the 20/20 team will take a deep look at a story about a 12 year old girl named Polly Klass. Back in the fall of 1993, she was kidnapped by an intruder who entered her house while she was having a sleepover with two of her friends.
Her mother was sleeping right in the next room when the kidnapping took place. This episode will report on how this case affected the small town of Petaluma, California and the entire nation. It will also take a look at the lasting impact her case had on the justice system, kidnapping investigation protocol and more.
ABC news correspondent Juju Chang handled the reporting duties for this episode. This episode will include new and old interviews with Marc Klaas and Eve Nichol, Polly’s parents; Anette Nelson, Polly’s best friend; lead FBI investigator Eddie Freyer; lead Petaluma Police Department Detective Vail Bello; and members of the cutting-edge FBI team called in to collect evidence that ultimately helped find Polly and bring her killer — Richard Allen Davis — to justice.
“20/20” documents the case, from the surge of national attention and support in finding Polly to a chilling police encounter with Davis months before they identified him as Polly’s murderer. The program also includes an interview with journalist Kim Cross, who has written the comprehensive new book “In Light of All Darkness,” which chronicles the case and investigation.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s new, September 22, 2023 episode of 20/20 reads like this, “NEW ‘20/20’ EXPLORES THE CHILLING KIDNAPPING OF POLLY KLAAS AND THE LASTING IMPACT HER CASE HAS HAD ON THE NATION. The special features interviews with the Klass family, close friends and lead investigators from the police department and FBI.” An alternate description tells us, “When a 12-year-old girl is snatched from her bedroom, the kidnapping shakes a small town.”
Again, ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 will be brand new again tonight, September 22, 2023, and it’s scheduled to hit your TV sets, starting at approximately 8 pm central standard time.
