Survivor November 1, 2023 Voted Off J Maya (Recap)

Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, November 1, 2023, another new episode of Survivor season 45 did indeed hit the air, and we saw another very unlucky contestant get eliminated during a very entertaining tribal council meeting. Tonight’s new episode kicked off with footage of the Belo tribe right after they just voted off Brando at the last tribal council meeting.

Kendra was very upset that her alliance buddy was voted off. She told the private cams, “I’m devastated. I was blindside. I want to get revenge on Emily.” Yeah, Emily abandoned Brando and Kendra to go vote with Drew and Austin during that last tribal council meeting.

At the Lulu tribe, everyone went looking for a hidden immunity idol, and Bruce found it. It was a beware advantage, and he showed it to everyone. Bruce lost his tribal council vote until he was able to find the idol. The beware advantage clue told him where to look for it.

Next, everyone got a note, telling them that everyone was about to merge and that the tribes are over. Eventually, Bruce did find the immunity idol. So, he was happy about that. Kaleb told the private cams that Emily will be his number one ally going into the merge. Dee was ecstatic to see her allies Drew and Austin show up.

J’s name came up as a target for Julie, Dee, Drew and Austin. Kendra told Bruce that Emily worked with Austin and Drew to get Brando out at the last tribal council meeting. Bruce said that’s good to know, and He told the private cams that he will eventually get Emily back for that.

Kaleb told the private cams, “Emily is the most valuable player to me ,right now, because she’s someone I can trust.” Bruce started getting nervous that no one was talking to him. He complained to Kaleb about it. Apparently, Bruce didn’t like that Kaleb was talking to so many people.

Kaleb told Kellie about it, and she agreed that Bruce is a liability to play this game with. She told the private cams, “I’m over Bruce, and I wouldn’t mind blindsiding him and getting him out of the game.” Kaleb told the private cams, “Bruce’s ideas of not talking to everyone are the stupidest ideas I’ve ever heard.”

At this point, host Jeff Probst showed up with a new challenge. It split everyone up into two teams of six with one person sitting out. The winning team of six automatically made it to the merge. The losing team of six were up for elimination at the next tribal council meeting. The person who sat out of this challenge got to choose which team to bet on for the win. If that team won, that person won. If that team lost, that person lost.

They drew straws to see which team they landed on, which was either blue or red. The blue team turned out to be: Sifu, Drew, Austin, Kendra, Julie and Jake. The red team consisted of: Kellie, Bruce, Jay, Kaleb, Emily and Dee. Katurah was the one who sat and out, and she placed her bets on the blue team winning it.

During this challenge, the teams had to make it through a muddy obstacle course. Then, push a load of sandbags to a tower. Then, stack the sandbags to help them climb to the top of the tower. Next, they had to slide down a rope ramp. Then, climb up onto the top of another platform and start working on completing part 1 of a 2-part puzzle. Two team members worked on part 1. Then, another set of two team members worked on part 2. The first team to complete both parts of the puzzle first, won for immunity and a special merge meal.

The Blue team of: Sifu, Drew, Austin, Kendra, Julie and Jake won. So, they were safe from getting voted off, but they still got to cast a vote at the next tribal council meeting. Katurah joined the Blue team since she bet on them to win.

At the Blue team’s merge meal, they mentioned that they wanted to get J out. Kendra and Bruce pitched out Emily and Kaleb’s names. Katurah told the private cams, “I don’t want to get rid of Kaleb. So, Bruce and Kendra’s strategies are all messed up.”

J told Jake that Kaleb should go because he’s a threat. Dee told Jake she wants J out. Jake told Dee, “I’ll do what you want.” Jake told Kellie that Dee wants J out. Kellie told the private cams that she didn’t have a problem with J leaving.

Bruce tried to campaign for Kaleb to go. Drew agreed with Bruce about getting Kaleb out. Austin agreed with Drew that Kaleb should go. Emily overheard that the votes were switching to Kaleb, and she told the private cams that she was upset that Kaleb could go, but it maybe was outside of her control at this point. Emily ran and told Kaleb that he was in danger of getting voted off. So, Kaleb told Drew, Austin, Sifu and some others, “Bruce has an idol. I wanna work with you guys to get him out.” They seemed to agree.

At the tribal council meeting, Kaleb said,”I may be the biggest threat, but I’m not the most strategic threat. I actually think J is the biggest threat.” Of course, J pushed back and tried to point out that Kaleb is the bigger threat. During the voting, Austin sacrificed his vote again to extend the life of his immunity idol.

After the votes were cast, Kaleb played his shot in the dark for safety. It gave him a 1 in 6 chance to win. He also had to give up his vote to play it. The results were that Jeff did end up drawing the safe card. So, Kaleb did win immunity. No votes against him counted.

It was a good thing too because actually everyone unanimously voted to get rid of Kaleb. They had to do a revote since no one voted for anyone else to go. Everyone started scrambling and talking about who to vote out during the revote. Emily and J’s names came up the most. After the revotes were cast, Emily got 1 vote, and J received 6 votes. So, with the 6 votes, J was voted off Survivor season 45. She left gracefully telling Jeff, “I was just glad I got to play” ,and she waived goodbye to everyone.

J told the private cams, “Kaleb won safety from elimination, and I guess I was the collateral damage. I’m just glad I was able to come out here and play a great friggin game.” How do you guys feel about J getting voted off Survivor season 45 in tonight’s episode? Let us know in the comments section.
