New 48 Hours November 25, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey,”48 Hours” fans. It’s that time of the week again. We’re back to let you know that another new episode of 48 Hours is headed your way tonight, November 25, 2023. That’s right, guys. CBS is going to deliver the next, new episode 9 of 48 Hours’ current season 37 tonight, and we’ve got some new preview info for it.
CBS served up a new, official press release for tonight’s new November 25, 2023 episode 9. So, that’s what we’ll be taking a look at for this preview session. Let’s get to it.
First thing’s first. There is an official title for this new, November 25, 2023 episode 9 of 48 Hours. It’s called, “Stephen Smith – A Death in Murdaugh Country.”
In tonight’s new, November 25, 2023 episode, the 48 Hours team is going to take a deep look at a story about a 19 year old gay man named Stephen Smith. He was found dead on a country road way back on July 8, 2015. At the time, the medical examiner ruled it as a hit and run.
Stephen’s mother Sandy Smith wanted to get a second opinion, but the investigation went nowhere as there were no suspects for Stephen’s death. In 2021, the case was re-opened after the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division found a new lead in Smith’s death. In March 2023, Sandy got a high-power legal team consisting of Eric Bland and Ronnie Richter to work for her pro bono, and they launched their own independent investigation.
During their investigation, they had Smith’s body exhumed and brought on a team of experts to examine it. Then, in April 2023, a former investigator and forensic pathologist named Dr.Michelle Dupre confirmed that Smith actually died from a single blow to his forhead after she oversaw the examination of Smith’s body. She said, “It split his skull.” Dupre went on to say that there were no injuries to his body that would indicate he’d been hit head-on by a vehicle.
Bland and Richter also hired a crime scene expert named Dr. Kenny Kinsey who also came to the same conclusion saying, “The quantity of blood, the direction of the flow in the road, and then the direction of all … the blood on his person … led me to … the only conclusion.” 48 HOURS contributor and CBS News national correspondent Nikki Battiste handled the reporting duties for this episode and case.
CBS’ official description for tonight’s new, November 25, 2023 episode 9 of 48 Hours season 37 reads like this,”48 HOURS” EXCLUSIVELY REVEALS THE FINDINGS OF AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION INTO A COLD CASE IN “STEPHEN SMITH – A DEATH IN MURDAUGH COUNTRY. Because of odd crime scene, his mother never believed that it was a hit and run. Now a team of high-profile lawyers and forensic experts is helping her get answers.”
An alternate description tells us, “A new independent investigation into the 2015 death of 19-year-old gay man Stephen Smith, whose mother never believed that it was a hit and run.”
CBS’ press release confirmed that the next, new episode 9 of 48 Hours’ current season 37 is indeed scheduled to hit your TV sets tonight, November 25, 2023, starting at approximately 9 pm central standard time. Tonight’s new episode will be a 1-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
