MasterChef July 17, 2024 Eliminated Chris Musgrove (Recap)

Hey, “MasterChef” fans. Tonight, July 17, 2024, another new episode of MasterChef’s current season 14 did indeed arrive with judges: Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich, and another unlucky contestant bit the bullet at the end.

Tonight’s new episode kicked off with the remaining contestants hitting up the BMO stadium in Los Angeles, California where they eventually learned that they would have to cook a restaurant quality meal for 101 hungry soccer players. They were split up into two teams for this challenge. Since Anna won the last elimination challenge, she was safe from elimination. She also got to pick the teams for this challenge.

Anna chose to group her Millennials team with the Baby Boomers team to be the Red team. That also means Anna chose to group the Gen Z team with the Gen X team to be the Blue team. Anna was captain for the Red team , and Becca was chosen to be captain for the Blue team.

During this challenge, they had to make a protein, starch, vegetable side and a sauce. Anna told Gordon her red team was making a Pan-Seared Halibut with Lemon Couscous, Sautéed Squash, Broccolini and Beurre Blanc dish, and they had to present a sample of it. Joe said, “The sear looks toasty.” Gordon said, “It’s cooked beautifully, but the fish is underseasoned.” Gordon advised her to get more people to help her plate all the dishes.

Becca told Joe and Aaron that her Blue team is making a Filet Mignon with Herb Polenta, Brussels Sprouts, Red Wine Sauce and Crispy Pancetta dish. She presented a sample of it. Gordon said, “It looks charming, but the filet is raw. You must correct that. That’s a massive problem.” They said everything else was good.

At one point, Rebecka was seen giving Anna an attitude about how the fish was being cooked by too many people or something. Rebecka also said she didn’t check the temperature on some fish that she cooked, and one of them was revealed to be raw by Gordon.

Later on, Gordon was seen calling the Blue team out for serving up more raw fillets. Chris and Adam were the ones cooking the fillets. Adam told the private cams, “I could be in danger of going home if we can’t get it to together.” There was another instance where a lot of blue team plates got sent back by the soccer players for having raw fillets. Gordon started yelling at them, “Why ?! Why?!. You’re destroying yourselves.” He told Hallie to help them out with the steaks.

When time ran out, it was revealed that both teams had actually failed to serve a couple of plates. The Red team failed to serve 6 plates. However, a fireworks show revealed that the Red team actually got the most votes from the soccer players. So, they won and were all safe. Anna also won an advantage for the next challenge, which was not revealed at this time.

The Blue team lost. So, someone had to get eliminated from their team. Adam told the private cams, “I feel like I’m at the bottom and deflated.” Ultimately, the judges picked Bella, Chris and Adam as the bottom three and sent Chris home. Gordon told Chris, “Ultimately, the steaks were your responsibility.”

Chris told the private cams, “I should’ve let my intuition guide me a little more. I fought hard and learned a lot. I can’t wait to show my family what I can do.”
