Bachelorette September 3 Finale Revealed Jenn’s Final Guy & Major Fallout Twist (Recap)

Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, September 3, 2024, the new, finale episode of The Bachelorette 2024 edition with headliner Jenn Tran hit the air, and we finally saw who Jenn picked to be her final guy, but it definitely didn’t have the ending we’re accustomed to seeing.

Tonight’s finale episode kicked off with Jenn greeting her family who came to Hawaii to support her. She talked to them about her two final men Devin and Marcus. Then, Devin showed up to greet Jenn and meet her family. They greeted each other with hugs and smiles.

Devin talked with Jenn’s mother. He told her, “I love Jenn because she’s makes me feel sane and 100 percent whole. There’s no doubt that she’s the person for me. Jenn deserves a man that will always pick her, and I would love to be that for her. It would 100 percent kill me if I was not the one for Jenn.”

Jenn talked with her mother. Jenn told her, “I can really talk about my feelings with Devin. He wants to know every part of me.” Jenn’s mom told her, “I think you need more time to get to know Devin better.”

Jenn talked with her brother James. She told him, “I have so much faith in me and Devin’s future together.” James told her, “Whatever decision you choose, I will support you.”

Devin talked with James and told him, “I’m confident in the way that Jenn and I operate together. She keeps me grounded. When Jenn told me she loves me, that was a monumental moment for me.” James said, “I won’t give the blessing now, because I haven’t spoken to the second guy, but I respect that you asked.”

Devin and Jenn talked after the family meet up. She told him, “I love you.” He said it back, and they kissed. Devin told the private cams, that he is kind of doubting himself after meeting Jenn’s family. Jenn’s brother said, “Devin definitely showed us good stuff, and he has set a bar for Marcus.”
Next, Marcus showed up to greet Jenn and meet her family. Marcus told the private cams, “I’m still not in love with Jenn right now. So, a proposal will be a difficult thing.”

Marcus told Jenn’s parents about his painful life story. Then, he talked with her brother James. James told Marcus, “I appreciate you opening up so much to people you just met.” Marcus told him, “Jenn has made me realize I’m on my way to find true love. She’s made me believe that it’s possible for me to be ready.” James told the private cams that he thought Marcus was avoiding directly answering his questions and that he’s worried about.

Marcus told Jenn’s sister and mother, “I’m not in love with Jenn right now. I want to get there for her. My feelings for her are real. I believe we can get there. Engagement is a big deal.” Jenn’s mother told the private cams, “Marcus looks like he’s not ready yet.”

Jenn talked with her brother James about Marcus. She told him, “I feel like Marcus is close to getting to the point of giving me what I need.” James said, “Your history of being with guys who are emotionally unavailable seems to be the mold that Marcus fits in.” Jenn agreed, but she said she believes Marcus has a good heart and is a good man. James asked Jenn, “How long are you willing to wait for Marcus to get there?” Jenn said, “I don’t know.”

Jenn and Marcus talked again after the family meet-up. She asked him where he’s at. He said he’s putting a lot of pressure on himself to provide for her. Jenn told the private cams,”I’m still feeling confused with Marcus.”

Next, we got footage of Devin and Jenn’s last 1 on 1 date. They went to the beach and did a Hawaiian ceremony. They expressed their biggest fears and how they want get rid of them. Afterwards, they talked and kissed while the sun set.

During the second half of their date, Devin and Jenn talked. Devin told her, “I like the thought of forever with you.” Jenn told him, “You understand me and get where I’m coming from.” He gave her a gift he got from a Shaman earlier in the season, and they kissed. Jenn told the private cams, “Devin just keeps blowing me away. I think he’s fully ready to make the commitment, and I don’t take that lightly at all.” Jenn told Devin, “I love you,” and they kissed.

Next, Marcus was seen telling host Jesse Palmer, “Part of me does love Jenn, but I’m still torn right now. I’ve never been so torn.” Jesse told him, “If you do love Jenn, I’m afraid you’re going to lose her if you don’t tell her.”

Jenn told the private cams, “I don’t wanna put on more fake smiles with Marcus. I need to talk with him and get some real answers.” So, she went to talk with him at his hotel room. She told him she was still confused about where he’s at. “I don’t now if you see me in your future,” she said.

Marcus said, “Yeah, I regret not diving deeper into what the future looks like.” Jenn said, “I feel like you’re not excited for the future.” Marcus said,”It’s not that. It’s just scary to me. I’m struggling for sure.”

Jenn said, “I don’t know how I’m supposed to process all this.” Marcus said, “You make me wanna keep trying. I want to find my person and start a family.” Jenn said, “But is that with me?” Marcus said, “My feelings are real, and I can picture a future with you. I just didn’t think it was going to be this hard. I don’t know why it’s so scary for me.”

Jenn said, “I’ve invested so much into us since the beginning, and I don’t know what to do with it now. I’ve gone through this in the past, and I’m tired of feeling this way.” Marcus said, “I do love you, and I wanna be the guy who fights for this. I don’t want to give up on us.”

Jenn told the private cams, “I’m conflicted and confused, and I don’t know what to do. I’m tired of investing so much time and energy into someone who doesn’t feel the same way.” Marcus told Jenn, “I’m afraid of losing you. I did fall in love with you.”

Jenn said, “I got lost and maybe gave too much along the way. I’m done waiting around for someone who’s afraid to lose me or to get there. I’m just done. I need a partner who’s willing to give as much as I give. Thank you for being honest with me,” and they hugged. Jenn told the private cams, ” It’s hard to say goodbye to someone I really care about.”

After all of that, Marcus was LIVE in studio with host Jesse Palmer to answer some questions. Marcus said, “It was tough to watch that back. Sometimes, things just don’t end up the way you want. There were some painful truths I stumbled upon in Hawaii, but Jenn deserved the truth, good or bad. I still care deeply about Jenn.

The hardest part for me was feeling like I let her down. I wasn’t living up to what she said she needed. The selfish part of me wanted to hold on to her, but the truth was that I needed to get out of her way.”

Next, Jenn showed up LIVE in studio to greet Marcus. Jenn told Marcus, “Our relationship meant so much to me, and I care deeply for you.” Marcus said,”I feel the same way. It was an honor and privilege to be a part of this journey.” Jenn said, “I feel like we both learned so much from each other.” Marcus said, “I’m proud of you for choosing you and what you needed despite how I felt.”

After all of that, we got footage of Devin meeting up with Neil Lane to pick out an engagement ring for Jenn. Jenn told host Jesse Palmer, “I’m not letting Devin propose to me, I’m going to propose to him.”

After that footage, Jesse talked more with Jenn LIVE in the studio, and she revealed the big shocker that changed this whole outcome. Jenn revealed that after the show ended and they left Hawaii, “Things changed. Devin slowly pulled away. I was confused and didn’t understand. I felt secondary to everything in his life.

Eventually, he called me and broke off our engagement. He told me, ‘I don’t love you anymore. I regretted getting engaged.’ I was trying to figure out how he could just switch up like that. He’s just been avoiding me since July like I mean nothing to him.”

Next, Devin came out to talk with Jenn. Jenn told Devin, “I can try to understand someone changing their mind. What I can’t understand is how disrespectful you were to me afterwards. You followed Maria on Instagram. You completely invalidated out relationship.” Devin told her, “I failed you, but everything I felt for you is real.” Jenn didn’t believe it saying, “You were out partying with Jeremy right after you broke up with me.”

Devin said, “I had a lot of doubts when I left the show. I was late at letting you know about all my doubts.” Jenn said, “I was heartbroken watching the lies you said to me week after week on TV. Meanwhile, you’ve been promoting the show on social media.”

Devin said,”I fell short of your expectations in the real world, and I feel bad about that. You don’t deserve your standards to be broken, and I saw you doing that.” After all of that, they showed footage of when Jenn proposing to Devin at the final rose ceremony.

It was very weird to watch it after knowing the fallout that took place afterwards between Jenn and Devin, and they showed it while Jenn was still sitting next to Devin LIVE in studio. It was beyond weird. The LIVE audience was mute after watching it back. You could literally hear a pin drop.

Jenn said, “I do not regret proposing to the man that was presented to me on the show, but he doesn’t exist anymore. I’m still the same person who will fight for love.” Devin said, “I did make a lot of promises, and I couldn’t keep them. I fell short to the point that you were doing things to diminish who you are.” And that was a wrap on this season. They concluded with a promo of the new, first season of the Golden Bachelorette, which is premiering this Fall.
