New The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon Season 3 Is Happening. AMC Renewed It
Hey, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed tonight’s episode 6, especially since it was indeed the finale episode for this current season 2. That means you guys will have to wait a pretty good while to see another new episode.
The good news is that you will see another new episode at some point in the future. According to the folks over at Deadline.com, AMC did indeed renew The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon for a new season 3 way back in July 2024. So, they give it a super early renewal.
Deadline also revealed some filming details for the new season 3. It’s going to be based in Madrid, and they plan to shoot it in the Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia and Valencia regions. Deadline also posted a brief synopsis for the new season 3. It reads like this,”Season three tracks Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) as they continue their journey towards home and the ones they love.
As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.”
During the new season 3 renewal announcement, the president of entertainment and AMC studios Dan McDermott had very nice things to say about the show stating, “We are so proud of these shows and incredibly grateful for the way this new chapter in The Walking Dead Universe has been embraced by the fans.
Sending Daryl, and then Carol, to France was such an inspired and visually striking move for this franchise, a chance to do something truly different. We can’t wait to continue the travels of this iconic duo with a third season produced and set in Spain, another beautiful country with a passionate TWD fanbase that is already buzzing with anticipation.”
Carol star Melissa McBride expressed how excited she is to shoot the new season 3. She also likes the new challenges the show is giving her. She stated, “I’m really appreciating the new challenges for Daryl and Carol being so far from all they’ve ever known… what it means for them, what it brings for each of them, apart and together.
There’s still so much ahead to unpack in France for the coming season two, and a breathtaking finale. And now Spain! I already know that David Zabel’s storytelling is making the most of all that is so beautiful and unique to Spain. We start shooting there in just a few weeks… such excitement looking forward!”
Currently, we don’t have an official premiere date for the new season 3. We’re still waiting for the AMC people to give us that announcement. It’s believed that it’s not going to show up until September or October of 2025. If that holds true, you guys do have a long wait ahead of you. Hopefully, they’ll give you more than 6, new episodes for all that waiting.
