Tesla Cybertrucks Reportedly Tanking Hard In Sales Right Now

According to a new report from MSN.com via Reuters, we’re hearing that the sales for Tesla’s very innovative-looking Cybertruck are currently tanking quite a bit.

Apparently, back in May of 2024, the hype was so large around the Cybertruck that it only took dealerships around 27 days to offload them from their lot onto buyers.

Now, here in December 2024, it’s reportedly taking around 75 days to get them sold. They’re also telling us that the number of registered Cybertrucks in the United states used to be around 5,428 back in August of 2024. Now, it’s hovering around the 4,000 mark.

The Cybertruck lease deals also took a plunge. They used to be $999 dollars a month to lease one. Now, the price has dropped to $899 dollars.

There’s speculation that most regular truck buyers are usually more conservative. So, the very unusual design of the Cybertruck could be one of the reasons for its drop in sales. We’ve also been hearing tat there are a lot of issues with these Cybertrucks.

According to Tomsguide.com , there are some Cybertruck owners who actually made some claims that their truck broke down just minutes after receiving it! One owner stated, “Worst delivery in my life. The truck died in 5 minutes. Tesla really rushed these trucks out. What a nightmare.”

One user complained that their truck told them to pull over because a critical steering issue was detected. One user complained about a very hard, unnecessary brake stop happened. He stated, “My Cybertruck suddenly made a hard brake stop when we both have a clear wide enough space between us.”

One owner said that the Cybertruck is at best a toy truck or experimental concept. There are also owners that have complained about corrosion building up on the truck along with some orange rust marks forming pretty quickly after getting the truck.

According to Cnet.com , Telsa has had to make 7 recalls for the Cybertruck this year. They are: Incorrect font size on warning lights.

Unintended acceleration from trapped pedal. Front windshield wiper can fail. Improperly adhered trunk bed trim can detach. Rearview camera image may not display. Inverter fault may cause loss of drive power, and a Tire pressure warning-light issue.

I’m pretty sure if any potential buyers of a Cybertruck caught wind of these many issues, that could certainly be a deterrent.

On a brighter note, Telsa is reportedly offering three months of free fast-charging and full self-driving for all new orders that deliver by December 31, 2024.
