‘Supergirl’ Season 5, February 2, 2020 Episode 12 Delayed. Not Airing Tonight
Hey, “Supergirl” fans. Unfortunately, we had to hop back on here to break some bad news to you guys. For some reason, The CW will not be airing the next, new episode 12 of this current 5th season of Supergirl.
Nope, in fact, they will also not air it next Sunday night,February 9, 2020. We’ve been informed that the next, new episode 12 is officially scheduled to air on Sunday night, February 16, 2020 in its usual 8 pm central standard time slot on The CW of course. So, be sure to write that very important date and time down on something as soon as you can.
What will The CW air instead of Supergirl tonight? Well, according to the TV guide listings, The CW will actually air Supergirl. However, it’ll just be a repeat episode. The repeat episode they’re airing tonigt is the 4th episode of the current season 5. It’s titled, “In Plain Sight.”
The CW’s official description for it reads like this, “Kara’s investigation into William Dey’s “criminal” activities results in a shocking revelation: He is not who she thinks. Meanwhile, the conflict between Malefic and J’onn J’onzz reaches a boiling point.”
Then next Sunday night, February 9, 2020, The CW will air another repeat episode of Supergirl. This one will be the 5th episode of this current season 5. It’s titled, “Dangerous Liaisons.”
The CW’s official description for it reads like this, “Kara and William team up on an investigation that exposes a terrorist plot on the eve of the worldwide launch of Andrea Rojas’s VR contact lenses. Meanwhile, Kelly and Alex celebrate an anniversary, but Alex’s safety is in jeopardy.”
If any of you guys want to rewatch those episodes, or if any of you never saw them when they originally aired, you might still want to tune into The CW tonight and next week. If not, you will most certainly want to make other plans as soon as you can.
With all that said, we were able to track down some new intel for the next,new episode 12 of Supergirl’s current season 5. The CW was nice enough to put out a press release for it and a preview clip. So, we’re going to go over those real quick.
We must tell you these items do contain light spoiler teasers. If you don’t like spoilers, we think you would most definitely want to leave right now. If you don’t mind reading spoilers, we’d love to have to stick around.
Now that our spoiler warning is in place, let’s take a look at this new episode 12 press release. First, it lets us know that episode 12 is officially titled, “Back From the Future – Part Two”
It sounds like episode 12 will feature some very interesting, possible action-filled,intense and dramatic scenes.
In the new episode 12, Winn will be back in action, but he’ll have a little problem with facing down his greatest fear. In light of this, Supergirl will give Winn a little help. Alex will be very busy in this episode. At some point, we’ll see Alex go on an adventure to track down some evidence that she can use against Lex.
Lastly, Brainy will find himself in quite the dilemma because he will have to make the very important choice of choosing to either help Alex or to continue secretly working for Lex.
The CW’s official description for episode 12 reads like this, “Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) helps Winn (guest star Jeremy Jordan) face his greatest fear. After Alex (Chyler Leigh) sets out to find evidence against Lex (guest star Jon Cryer), Brainy (Jesse Rath) must decide between helping his friend Alex or continuing to secretly work for Lex.”
The new preview clip for episode 12 features Kara getting asked out on a date, and she seems quite giddy about it saying, “I haven’t felt this way in a very long time.”
That’s, of course, coupled with some extreme action scenes that will surely deliver a ton of drama and suspense. Supergirl and Alex are seen getting shot at in one of the scenes. It’s very wild.

Episode 12 was directed by Alexis Ostrander, and it was written by Rob Wright and J. Holtham. Again, The CW confirmed that the next, new episode 12 of Supergirl season 5 is scheduled to air on Sunday night, February 16, 2020 at approximately 8 pm central standard time.
