Days Of Our Lives September 12, 2022 And Beyond Moved To Peacock Streaming Network
Hey, “Days Of Our Lives” fans. This is a reminder for those of you who have forgotten,or a first-time revelation for those of you who didn’t know. Today, September 12, 2022 is the big day that NBC has officially taken your favorite soap opera Days Of Our Lives off their channel and moved it to its Peacock network. Essentially, NBC canceled Days Of Our Lives from their channel, but decided to keep it alive via their Peacock streaming service.
The first announcement of this move took place back in early August 2022. According to the folks over at TVLine.com ,this Peacock move for Days Of Our Lives isn’t part of their free service, unfortunately.
Apparently, Days Of Our Lives is on what is called Peacock Premium, which comes with a cost of $4.99 a month. So, fans will have to pony up some cash if they want to keep watching Days Of Our Lives from this point on.
NBC is replacing Days Of Our Lives with a new show called, “NBC News Daily.” NBC’s official description for it reads like this, “NBC News provides viewers with the latest national and international news; consumer, health and personal finance reporting; up-to-the-minute local news.”
So, if you tune into NBC at 1 pm central standard time today and beyond, that is what you’ll be seeing instead of Days Of Our Lives.
As we previously reported, Scott McKinsey who is the director for Days Of Our Lives revealed on his Facebook page that this move to Peacock premium actually rescued Days Of Our Lives from permanent cancellation on NBC stating, “The show has not been canceled, and/or ‘picked up’ by Peacock. This is a big difference from the sad demise of ABC’s ‘One Life to Live’ and ‘All My Children.’
All of your favorite characters will remain on the show for the foreseeable future. In fact, the prospect of ‘Days’ remaining in production for the long term just increased as a result of this move. Without Peacock, ‘Days’ might have been numbered on the Network/NBC.”
After that, Scott went on to say that there are other benefits other than just Days Of Our Lives for subscribing to Peacock premium. He wrote, “I understand Peoples’ sour reaction to being asked for money to remain viewers, but let’s look at the positives. The monthly subscription includes access to every show DOOL has ever aired as I understand it.
It allows you to watch a new episode anywhere you have internet access. So you don’t have to view it on your DVR at home, or lose the episode because your DVR is full, or because the network preempted it for a car chase!”
Yes, today, is a sad day for Days Of Our Lives on NBC, but maybe it’s a new beginning for it on the Peacock premium streaming network. We’ll see.
