New Star Trek 2,Into Darkness movie delivered great action, drama, twists & more. Paramount Pictures released their new sci-fi/action flick, “Star Trek 2: Into Darkness” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was absolutely magnificent as it delivered big on the action, and the plotline was golden with tons of major twists towards the end.
The drama was really intense too as Spock and Kirk really connected for some teary-eyed moments. I mean, I didn’t cry,but I certainly would never rag on anyone who did. The movie stars: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, and Peter Weller.
In the new flick, Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) loses command of the Enterprise after he violates the Prime Directive in an effort to save his first Officer,Spock, from getting destroyed by a huge Volcano explosion while on planet Nibiru. However, Kirk eventually gets back control of the Enterprise after the Starfleet gets heavily attacked by a very dangerous enemy, named John Harrison, who later reveals himself to actually be super villain, Khan.
Admiral Marcus reinstates Kirk to be the Captain of the Enterprise, along with Spock as his first Officer, and orders them to fly to the Klingon planet, Kronos, to destroy Khan, who has fled there. From there, Kirk and the crew eventually learn that Khan is quite a powerful being as he takes out a whole army of Klingons when Kirk and company get captured by them. If that weren’t enough, Khan surrenders himself to the Enterprise crew.
Shortly after that, a great twists is revealed, prompting Kirk to make a shocking decision to team with Khan in effort to save the Enterprise from being blown away by a powerful enemy ship. The actions that followed were extremely intense and heavily suspenseful, culminating in quite a few twists being revealed that led to a conclusion that was filled with tons of explosions, major Khan fight and capture scenes, along with the near death of a major character, and more. It was totally wild.
Again, I really enjoyed watching this flick. It was never boring for one second. The plot was great. All the characters and actors did good job. There was one heavy emotional scene between Kirk and Spock. Actress Alice Eve served up some great female eye candy as Carol Marcus. Then there’s that Zoe Saldana aka Nyota. She was just extremely beautiful in this.
Chris Pine, of course, did a great job as Captain Kirk, once again. Benedict Cumberbatch was also excellent as Khan. I gave this movie a definite A+ grade. It just very well done in my opinion.
