New Anchorman 2,The Legend Continues Movie Delivered Lots Of Laughs And Corniness
New Anchorman 2,The Legend Continues movie delivered lots of laughs and corniness. Paramount Pictures released there new comedy flick, “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and I thought it was ok. It delivered a lot of laughs, but man, was it corny as hell at times. It really went over the top towards the end too. It stars: Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Dylan Baker, Meagan Good, Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear, Josh Lawson, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, and Nicole Kidman .
In the new flick, the storyline picked back up 7 years after the first installment. Ron Burgundy (Will Ferell) is now married to Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) and has a 7 year old son with her. They live in New York City, working at a prestigious news network. However, one day, Veronica got a promotion ,but poor Ron got fired for being what his boss described as, the worst anchorman in the world.
Six months later, Ron is spotted back in San Diego, barely able to hold a job due to his depression. He even tries to hang himself, but can’t even do that right due to his extreme incompetence. At this point, everything changes when he’s offered a job to work at a new 24 hours news network in New York.
From there, Ron gathers up his old news team,David Koechner), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) , and Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) to go do their thing at GNN (Global News Network). When they first arrive there, they get made fun of by their current hot shot anchor, Jack Lime. However, thats soon stops when Ron and his team quickly beat Jack out in the ratings with their new, non-boring brand of reporting.
Ron’s new success also gets him into bed with his sexy boss-lady, Linda Jackson (Meagan Good), at one point, which also sets up a very funny scene when Ron has dinner with Linda’s family. Eventually, Ron hits adversity by losing his sight after trying to do a crazy ice-skating trick and landing on his head.
The blindness caused Ron to spiral into a deep depression, which actually caused him to get closer to Veronica and his son after being separated from them for a while. Ron ended up, even raising a baby shark as a weird project with his son. I mean, it really got weird as they cried over the Shark and everything.
Ron eventually gained his site back, which set up for a conclusion that was filled with very crazy, over the top fighting and physical war with other news organizations. Hell, they even had a ghost and a werewolf mixed in with all the unreal madness. It was really just too ridiculous at that point.
Again, I thought the movie was funny and entertaining for the most part, but man, I have never seen such corniness, in all my life, there at the end. They just decided to go stone crazy with the plotline or something. I gave the movie a solid C+. Stay tuned. Also, get your favorite Movie stuff, and more by Clicking Here.
