Jay-Z Says He Didn’t Like Lil Mama, Interrupting His VMA Act
According to MTV news, rapstar, Jay-Z didn’t appreciate “America’s Best Dance Crew” judge, Lil Mama crashing him and Alicia Keys performance of “Empire State of Mind” at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, a couple of weeks ago.
They report that Jay-Z spoke to Angie Martinez on her radio show,and talked about Lil Mama’s VMA incident for the first time, a couple of days ago.
He stated, “To interrupt that moment for us, I don’t think that was the right thing to do.” He also said there was a lot of planning that went into the performance,and that her interruption was out of line. He stated, “It was a lot of planning that went into that performance. To disrupt that was outta line.”
He also said that he was angered by Lil Mama,but there wasn’t really anything he could do about it. He stated, “What I’mma do, fight Lil Mama?”
Lil Mama said in an earlier interview that she went onstage because she was overwhelmed with inspiration. They report that Alicia Keys said on the “Today” show, that it would’ve been better if she did it from her seat. She stated, “We can appreciate her being overwhelmed and inspired.but we would have appreciated it if she would have did it from her seat.”
