New Annabelle Movie Delivered Great Thrills,Suspense,Drama & More
New Line Cinema (Warner Bros.) released their new horror/thriller flick, “Annabelle,” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and thought it was very entertaining, serving up some major suspense and thrilling moments. It stars: Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton.
In the new flick, happily married couple, Mia and John, are expecting their first baby. And everything just seems so happy go lucky. But little by little that quickly changes, starting with Mia hearing screams from the neighbor’s house after an apparent stabbing murder takes place.
Shortly after that, Mia and John get attacked by the same man and woman who killed their neighbors. The police arrived and shot them both before they could kill Mia and John. Then later on, it was revealed that the girl was Annabelle Higgins and the dude was her boyfriend. They were both involved in some twisted demonic cult. Annabelle died with one of the ugly dolls in her hands, signaling that her soul may have jumped into it.
From there, Mia and John start gradually getting haunted and the ugly doll always seemed to be around even though they attempted to throw it away at one point. Well, it was mostly Mia getting haunted, and John wasn’t really buying it at first. However, as these types of movies usually play out.
Things end up getting more serious to the point that John has no choice but to believe it ,and quickly calls a priest into action. Oh, and Mia gave birth to the child, which was a girl and they named her Lea. So, now we have a situation where all three of them are being severely haunted. So, yeah, lots of baby crying was going on.
Mia and John eventually learn that a demonic entity was there and wanted to take a soul and wouldn’t leave until it got the soul. Shortly after that, we see a wild conclusion that involved screaming and pleading when the demon takes Mia’s child, and won’t give it back until somebody gives up their soul.
Again, I really enjoyed the entire runtime of this movie as it was quite intriguing and suspenseful, and never boring. It didn’t have the most original plotline, but it was still every bit as entertaining as anything similar to it that I’ve seen in the past, so that was good enough for me. I gave it a solid B+ grade.
