‘The Lovely Bones’ movie gets mediocre reviews from top critics. Dreamworks Pictures released it’s new,interesting drama, “The Lovely Bones” in wide release today after a limited release back in early December. It stars: Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli,and Saoirse Ronan Most of the top movie critics seemed to think that it was missing a certain element,giving it pretty mediocre reviews.

Peter Travers at Rolling Stone gave it 4 stars. He said, “All this is conveyed in the remarkable performance of Ronan, an Oscar nominee for Atonement. She and Tucci — magnificent as a man of uncontrollable impulses — help Jackson cut a path to a humanity that supersedes life and death.”

A.O. Scott from The New York Times gave it 3 stars. He stated, “The filmmakers’ evident affection for the book expresses itself as a desperate scramble to include as much of it as possible, which leaves the movie feeling both overcrowded and thin.” Read more »

Singer,Teddy Pendergrass sadly died yesterday in Philadelphia. According to ABC news, R&B singer, Teddy Pendergrass died yesterday in suburban Philadelphia. He had apparently been hospitalized for months. His son said he had underwent colon cancer surgery eight months ago,and had a difficult time recovering from it. He was 59 years old.

Before being in a car crash 28 years ago,which left him paralyzed from the waist down, he had tons of R&B hits that included, “Close the Door,” “It Don’t Hurt Now,” and “Love T.K.O.” A lot of his hits became classics. He was able to get about 10 platinum albums in a row,and was a very successful recording artist until the car crash halted his career. Read more »

‘It’s Complicated’ Movie Got Pretty Good Reviews From Top Movie Critics

‘It’s Complicated’ movie got pretty good reviews from top movie critics. Universal Picture’s new romantic comedy, “It’s Complicated” hit theaters today,and the reviews are in. They look pretty good. It got all Bs,and just one C. It stars: Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski, Lake Bell, Zoe Kazan, Mary Kay Place, Nora Dunn, Bruce Altman, and Rita Wilson.

Roger Ebert from the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a B-. He said, “It’s Complicated is perfectly plausible if you are only willing to believe that Meryl Streep sells a whole lot of muffins.”

Lisa Schwarzbaum over at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B rating. He said, ” It’s Complicated is middle-aged porn, the specialty of Meyers, who also set ladies and interior decorators drooling over homes and gardens in 2006’s The Holiday. Read more »

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Lindsay Lohan has recently shot a sexy,raunchy new threesome photo spread for Muse Magazine. She posed in bed with model Petey Wright and invited dancer Sofia Boutella to join in during the photo shoot,which was shot at LA’s Chateau Marmont. It’s an 18 page photo shoot, and was inspired by Kate Moss and Johnny depp’s fiery relationship.

WWE’s Umaga Died At A Houston Medical Center today. According to TMZ, former WWE wrestler Umaga died earlier today at a Houston medical center. His real name is Eddie Fatu,and they reported that he was being treated at a Houston medical center,and he was in really bad shape.

He had recently returned from Australia where he appeared in Hulk Hogan’s “Hulkamania” wrestling tour,which ended in late November. Then, a few hours after that, he passed away. He was 36 years old.

The WWE has released the following statement on their website,which says, “The WWE would like to express its deepest condolences to Mr. Fatu’s family, friends and fans on his tragic passing.” Read more »

‘The Blind Side’ Movie Gets Pretty Good Reviews From Top Critics

‘The Blind Side’ movie gets pretty good reviews from top critics. Warner Bros. Pictures released it’s new true life drama movie, “The Blind Side,” today,and the reviews are in. They look pretty good,getting mostly 4 star ratings across the board. While having just a few 3 star ratings.

Ann Hornaday from the Washington Post gave it 4 stars. She said, ” Grounded in the direct, disarming truth of their experience, the movie has a straightforward lack of cheap sentiment that saves it from being either too maudlin or saccharine-sweet.”

Joe Leydon from Variety gave it another 4 stars. He stated, “Uplifting and entertaining feel-good, fact-based sports drama.”

James Berardinelli also gave it 4 stars,stating, ” In a head-to-head comparison, one would be hard-pressed not to declare that “Precious” is the better film Read more »

‘Cirque Du Freak’ Movie Brought Action And An OK Plot

Universal Pictures’ Cirque du Freak :The Vampire’s Assistant movie brought action and an ok plot . It stars: John C. Reilly, Ken Watanabe, Josh Hutcherson, Chris Massoglia, Ray Stevenson, Patrick Fugit, Orlando Jones, Willem Dafoe, and Salma Hayek.

Although the storyline/plot left something to be desired, “Cirque du Freak :The Vampire’s Assistant” did deliver more action than I had originally expected it to.

The movie focused around character , Darren Shan who is best friends with a guy named Steve. They eventually end up going to a “Cirque du Freak” show that changes young Darren’s life forever.

Darren steals a spider from Larten Crepsley who is a vampire in the show. Darren’s friend, Steve gets bitten by the spider. Read more »

‘Pandorum’ Movie Came With Intense Action & Good Twists

The horror,sci-fi,thriller movie from Overture Films entitled, “Pandorum” was released this weekend. It started off kind of slow,but began to pick up when it towards the middle. It was an interesting story,once the pieces of the puzzle started to come together. The movie starred, Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster, Cam Gigandet, Antje Traue, Cung Le, Eddie Rouse, Andre Hennicke, and Norman Reedus.

In “Pandorum,” two astronauts, Peyton and Bower awaken from a hyper sleep onboard their spaceship. They can’t remember anything initially,but slowly begin to regain their memories as the movie moves along.

Bower sets out to find the reactor so he can start the ship up again. However,on his journey to find the reactor,he runs into some unwelcome guests. Some of the guests become his ali,and the others are definitely his enemy,as they are monster-like creatures that feed on humans. Read more »

Soap Opera, ‘Guiding Light’ Ends Its 72 Year Run On The Air

Yesterday, the long running CBS soap opera, Guiding Light ended its 72 year run on the air. The last episode’s closing moments sealed the future of the show’s signature super-couple, Reva (Kim Zimmer) and Josh (Robert Newman).

They met at the local lighthouse,declared their undying love for each other,climbed into Josh’s truck,and drove away to the ending credits.

“Guiding Light” originated in Chicago,on the radio in 1937. Then it moved to TV in 1952. According to the Nielsen ratings report, the “Guiding Light” audience dropped to 2.7 million viewers this season, down from 5 million in 1999. Read more »
