‘Halloween’ 2 Movie Was Weird,Yet Horrifying, & Entertaining
Dimension Films let lose their Michael Myers horror flick, “Halloween II” on us this weekend. Now I’m not a big follower of these Halloween movies, meaning I saw the one back in 1998, H2O,and then I saw this one. The movie,to me was entertaining, and a little bit strange, but entertaining, none the less.
A brief synopsis of the film, starts with a huge dream sequence which seems quite real since you’re not aware of it until Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton) who is dreaming it,wakes up.
She apparently has multiple nightmares every night of Michael Myers coming back and attacking her after she supposedly shot and killed him.She is now staying at the home of Sheriff Lee Brackett (Brad Dourif) and his daughter, Annie Brackett (Danielle Harris).
The issue throughout the beginning of the movie, is that they were never able to obtain Michael’s body,so Laurie is paranoid about that, and rightfully so, as we soon see.
Then Dr. Samuel Loomis (Malcolm McDowell) who apparently worked with Michael as a child, writes a tell all book about his experience with Michael, and some of the people involved. This sets Laurie into an emotional tailspin as she realizes that she is actually Michael Myer’s sister.
Also ,of course, Michael makes his way back, and starts the killing (very violent killing) again, but with a strange new element added. It shows a vision of his mother,Deborah Myers (Sheri Moon Zombie) and his younger self accompanying him while he performs each murder, and his mother gives him encouragement to do so.
This pattern continues on throughout the movie, ending in a huge and weird showdown with Michael Myers, Laurie Strode, the cops,Dr. Samuel Loomis, and those visions of his mother, and younger self.
It ends in a very weird way. But after all was said and done,it was very apparent just what exactly happened, but for how long remains to be seen. It looks like it should be forever this time, though.
Overall I thought the movie did what it should do,and that was to entertain its audience. It introduced a very weird element with Michael’s mother and his younger self accompanying him while he murdered his victims. But at the same time,it made it that much more interesting to watch. The movie definitely was not boring, and I think it will entertain most people.
