Movie Critics gave Matt Damon’s ‘Green Zone’ movie really good reviews. Universal Pictures released its new Matt Damon thriller flick, “Green Zone” in theaters today,and most of the top movie critics appeared to really enjoy it. They gave it a bunch As and Bs,and only got two Cs. The movie stars: Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Amy Ryan, Brendan Gleeson, Jason Isaacs, and Khalid Abdalla.
Wesley Morris from the Boston Globe gave it a B-. He said, it “moves too fast to think and its political ideas have been pre-argued to death.” Roger Ebert at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a very strong A rating. He stated, that it “looks at an American war in a way almost no Hollywood movie ever has.”
Matt Pais over at the Chicago Tribune gave it a mediocre C. he said it was “Bourne to be inferior.” Lisa Schwarzbaum at “Entertainment Weekly” gave it a C+ rating,stating, it was “a strangely dated, foolishly grandiose, simplistically angry fictional war-zone thriller about how one patriot blows the lid off America’s missteps in Iraq.”
Kirk Honeycutt from the Hollywood Reporter gave it a strong A-. He said, it was “An energetic, frenzied thriller — Paul Greengrass-style — set in Iraq in the chaotic post-invasion days.”
A.O. Scott over at the New York Times gave it another strong A- rating. He stated, “action under pressure is a test and a revelation of character.” James Berardinelli from Reelviews also gave it an A-. He said, it was “a high energy thriller.”
