Top Movie Critics Gave New ‘Robin Hood’ Movie OK Reviews

Top movie critics gave new ‘Robin Hood’ movie “OK” reviews. Universal Pictures released their new version of the classic tale “Robin Hood” movie into theaters today,and the top movie critics pretty much just thought it was “OK” overall,giving it Bs and Cs across the board. The movie stars: Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, William Hurt, Matthew Macfadyen, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Lea Seydoux, Scott Grimes, Kevin Durand, Alan Doyle, Danny Huston, and Max von Sydow.

Roger Ebert at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a C rating. He said, “Robin Hood is a high-tech and well made violent action picture.” Geoff Berkshire over at the Chicago Tribune gave it a B- rating. He stated, it “Delivered with competence and class.”

Owen Gleiberman at “Entertainment Weekly” gave it a C-. He said, “Forget valor and excitement. Scott’s Robin Hood is all about backstory.” Sean O’Connell from Filmcritic.com gave it another good B rating,stating, “Crowe and Scott have rediscovered those heroic rhythms that propelled their Oscar-winning Gladiator without simply retreading the same waters.”
