‘MacGruber’ movie got semi-average reviews from top critics. Rogue Pictures released its new comedy/action flick “MacGruber” into the theaters this today, and the top movie critics in the business pretty much gave it semi-average reviews. The scores were mixed all across the bored. It got Bs,Cs,Ds, and an F,so I guess MacGruber is pretty much a matter of individual taste. It stars: Will Forte, Ryan Phillippe, Kristen Wiig, Val Kilmer, Powers Boothe, and Maya Rudolph.

Peter Travers at “Rolling Stone” gave it a B. He stated, “How the hell can you take an SNL skit that runs 90 seconds and stretch it to a 90-minute feature? Sounds excruciating. But MacGruber breaks the jinx by putting the skit in the context of a 1980s action movie and creating its own brand of explosive lunacy.”

John DeVore from Premiere gave it another B rating. He said, “MacGruber is crude. It’s obscene. The dialogue is puerile and the jokes adolescent. And for the most part, it’s hilarious: a bawdy riot drunk on impropriety, which is why the movie works.”

John DeFore from the “Hollywood Reporter” gave it a C. He stated, “Utterly disposable but diverting, MacGruber manages to spin feature-length product out of an idea that few would try expanding beyond a “Saturday Night Live” skit.”

Roger Moore from the Orlando Sentinel gave it a C-. He said, “Kilmer makes a worthy, if somewhat underscripted villain. And some of the bits — MacGruber idiotically setting traps that the bad guys never fall for — tickle. But this still feels instantly dated, a “Hot Rod in a Role Models” era.”

Rick Groen at the “Globe and Mail” gave it a D-. He said, “Think of a really bad, uncensored Saturday Night Live comedy sketch. Then make it worse – make it longer.”

Joe Neumaier at the “New York Daily News” gave it another D-. He said, “To call MacGruber”a total bomb is a bit much, but this comedy-action flick sure feels like it was put together with gum, shoelaces and a couple of sticky Twizzlers.”

Kyle Smith at the “New York Post” gave it a real bad F- rating. He stated, “There’s a reason you’ve never seen the words “Will Forte” topping the billing of a major motion picture. After the throbbing flameball of unfunny that is MacGruber, you never will again.” “MacGruber” movie is in theaters now. You can read more movie reviews at Metacritic by Clicking Here.
