Top movie critics gave new ‘Karate Kid’ movie pretty positive reviews. Columbia Pictures released their new “Karate Kid” remake movie into theaters today,and most of the top movie critics in the business seemed to enjoy it,giving it mostly positive reviews with mostly Bs across the board,and only two Cs. The movie stars: Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith, and Taraji P. Henson.

Ty Burr at the Boston Globe gave it a B rating. He said, “Director Harald Zwart has The Pink Panther 2’ to his credit, for which he will never, nor should ever, be forgiven, but he keeps this one moving smoothly, and he uses the Chinese locations well.”

Roger Ebert at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a very good A-. He stated, it was “a lovely and well-made film that stands on its own feet.” Michael Phillips from the Chicago Tribune gave it a B-. He said, “I doubt even Smith and Chan believe their film needed to be 140 minutes long.”

Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B. He said, it was “fun, and believable.” Bill Gibron at Filmcritic.com gave it a C. He said, “The movie is more padded than a supermodel’s bra, clocking in at well over two hours.”

Frank Scheck over at the Hollywood Reporter gave it a C. He stated, it “Won’t erase memories of the original.” James Berardinelli at Reelviews gave it a B-. He said, “This is a grim motion picture.”
